I found out that for an event to be considered official there is a minimum of 3 athletes from different countries. If a country backs out there is a penalty of US$1,000 so probably that's what happene

Ayacucho, Peru November 29th - December 9th 2024

 

Participating countries: :BOL  :CHI  :COL  :ECU  :PAN  :PAR  :PER  :VEN

 

With two more countries invited to participate:  :ESA  :DOM

A little bit of news from last night...

 

As far as I can tell, Jhuskarly Patricia Becerra Montesinos :WHT became the first refugee athlete to win a medal at the (Youth) Bolivarian Games. She'll box for the gold medal later today :yes

      Spring Nationals, Day #1   men's 50m Back: Michele Lamberti, 24.38 (new NR) women's 800m Free: Simona Quadarella, 8.21.01 men's 400m Free: Davide Marchello, 3.47.76 women's 100m Breast: Lisa Angiolini, 1.06.33; Benedetta Pilato, 1.06.39 men's 50m Fly: Lorenzo Gargani, 23.31 women's 400m IM: Giada Alzetta, 4.41.00 men's 50m Free: Leonardo Deplano, 21.64 women's 4*100m Free Relay: best splits: Sara Curtis, 53.53 (1st leg), Emma Virginia Menicucci, 54.02 (internal leg)   the individual champions are qualified to the European Championships per rule, but not a single second ranked swimmer did better than the qualifying time set by the federation, they all have to try again at the Settecolli meet in June (or get the pass in other races here in Riccione this week)   so, day 1 is over and the championship is already very disappointing, especially because none of the youngsters expected to make a step ahead in the hyerarchy of our swimming did show any sign of improvement

      Serbia- Italy 0-6   I don't know how tjis Serbia can to draw 0-0 with Sweden at home... I have the impression that Sweden plays its best matches against Italy and is weak in the rest? However, 1 place in this group will be difficult to do and we won't avoid a playoff spot for spot on the World Cup. If we're to dream of first place, we absolutely must win in Denmark on Saturday.
