The problem of the Italian federation is that her system doesn`t work and we can`t afford to lose talents like Colturi. Our slalom does not exist, whether among women or men. We are currently at a level under that Croatia in women and Bulgaria in the men's category. There is no progress, in fact there is regression, because while Vinatzer often didn`t finish runs a few years ago, when he did finish he was able to be in the top. Now he either doesn`t finish or is around 20th place, like now. In the women's category the peak of our abilities is Peterlini, who regularly placed around 20th place in the World Cup... If we can`t afford to invest more than Albania and that with the Winter Olympics in a year at home, so I think we can really dissolve our ski sector and focus on something else... If the federation is satisfied with such low levels, let them continue:facepalm:

 

Btw. maybe it's better investing in private teams like Colturi, if it works? I'd like have 1-2 Colturi in private teams, who will stand on the podiums of the World Cup, than a national team consisting of 5-6 average skiers, who can take 20th place at most, if they finish the race at all...

Noel- 1st place today after 1 run, Amiez- 3rd place... Vinatzer is a talent similar to Noel, so I ask where are his results, where are the other skiers in the lead of classification? Did they really think they would ride on one Gross and Razzoli until 2026?

Italian boy places in I run: 20, 21, 25 - Vinatzer. Someone will probably not finish the second run and it will be just like yesterday with the women.... I`m definitely not satisfied... The last time we won the men's slalom in 2017 - Manfred Moelgg and it will not change soon. Our only skier with huge potential - Vinatzer has been completely lost in slalom in the last 2 years. In total, I think I will skip see the 2nd run. I`m waiting for the competitions with Goggia and Brignone in the USA in a few days. Our entire alpine skiing now depends on the health of these two girls.

These are small positive signs, Pippo Della Vite showed good things and you could have had four in the first run. You can't change things in a week, it takes time and work. I am convinced that in the future Moelgg's new ski school methodologies will work.

We had time from July 2019 - in that time we got the organization of the games in Cortina. I don't trust our federation. They are responsible for losing a great talent - Colturi and they did nothing during this time. Because people like Goggia, Brignone or Paris were already strong before 2019.

Good to see any sign of a good Finnish performance in any skiing sport. It's so weird they are not good anymore in skiing and i just can't understand why.

If I say what I think about some federal executives of the Italian Winter Sports Federation, I'll get a lawsuit. :lol:

 

On Colturi, it was her and Ceccarelli's choice, I will still consider it a wasted opportunity. But even if she came back to compete with Italy, I would not cheer for her. Everyone makes their own choices, and Colturi preferred the freedom of having sponsors and private teams.

      Of the top teams the world with traditions, only Portugal didn`t play in 3 World Cups in a row: 1986-2002 (1990, 1994 and 1998), but then fewer teams played in the World Cup than now. I don't really remember what caused the crisis in Portuguese football in the 1990s or how it was done with this later? Perhaps we should follow their example?

      Gravina is simply stupid and probably has some kind of hold over other important key figures in Italian football, since he was elected in 2024 with a majority of over 90% of the votes... I have a hard time imagining it any other way. Compared to him, even Carraro, Berlusconi and Moggi seem like nice and kind gentlemens   Some people believe that Calciopoli in 2006 began the decline of Italian football and that may be true. It only got worse from there, not counting a single accidental Euro 2021 win- something similar to Greece in 2004. In 2009 Roberto Baggio prepared a 900-page report on necessary reforms in Italian football, but the then-FIGC board tossed it into the trash bin. Now we see the consequences...

      I thought our former football President was greedy, selfish, power hungry and delusional, but apparently he has an equal counterpart in Gravina. Some people just lack common decency.

      Well, it's possible that Italians may be more bitter towards short track officials after the robbery they perpetrated against Sighel at the Olympics and therefore more willing to comment and criticize them, but it doesn't make the decision any less ridiculous.   Also, the fact we are Italians, and therefore used to the low standards of football refereeing, makes us especially qualified and trained to identify biased/crooked/incompetent judging

      I think it was never in the history of our sport has there been anyone as brazen and stupid as Gravina. Before presidents would resign, or at least hide for a while, rather than go into a full-blow scandalous attitude with full larrogance and pride. I hope this idiot gets fired anyway, even if he doesn't resign.
