It began early this morning (European time) the second World Cup stage in Tashkent, which is important for accumulating points toward the Olympic ranking. This stage is relatively weak, with Russia, Bulgaria, and Italy opting for a turnover, while Spain and Ukraine are not taking part at all in the home event. The only exception is Germany, which has brought Varfolomeev here—she did not compete in Sofia—and she is expected to win easily without any strong challengers. Among the interesting athletes, I would point out Ikromova, Santos, Lewinska, and the usual Americans.
