2024 Olympics - Day 14 (August 9)

Recommended Posts

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Sports Canada needs to invest more in psychologists. Our favourites flame out so often, while those with little expectations on them can perform. It's a constant thing. Not to mention the 4ths.

Kelsey Mitchell through to the 1/8 finals in women’s sprint! Wow, I was for sure thinking she was going to be out.

Sport Canada has no new money and all Federations are starved for money. Our federal government is a shitshiw right now

:NZL heard you are are taking revenge in the shot put xD

Well, this would be the shortest mark for gold since 1964.

And if that's the field that Mitton lost to it'll make it even worse.

And one can probably expect money to be even tighter under the next government.

And the German takes the lead! With a still-too-short-to-be-serious mark. This is what Mitton lost to?

Edit: And the Kiwi takes it back.

Probably not. There is a lot of 'fat' to trim, but not at Sport Canada

    • Interesting, for only 2 months i think i have seen some kind of coin from all of the big countries - Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, France, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Ireland and yes the 2 euro from Croatia. But some of them were the smaller ones, 10, 5, 2 cents.    Expectedly there aren't any from the smaller countries so far. Nothing from the Baltics, Cyprus, Slovenia, Malta, Andorra etc. But also a bit surprising i haven't seen any from Greece yet.    Don't know from what part of Italy are you, but it's safe to say that when summer hits there will be a lot of Bulgarians visiting Rome, so i'm sure they'll bring some of our coins to spread around.
    • I choose to collect only coins in circulation (and I have also found coins in circulation that should not be on the market; you can find a bit of everything). From my experience, it takes 4-5 years for coins to reach southern Italy, so I have no idea how it will work in Bulgaria. Incidentally, I am curious to see when I will see my first Bulgarian coin. I have not yet seen a Croatian coin (introduced in 2023!).
    • Yes, i saw that there are a lot of commemorative coins. But to get some of those, i would need to buy them, as i don't know how much of them are in circulation. And the chances of such making it to Bulgaria are rather slim.    Still, if i find some sports ones on a good price, maybe i will order a few.

    • Don't know if someone else is collecting Euro coins, but since we joined the zone it's been fun looking at what you can get.    It took only 2 months, but today i finally got my first Slovakian coin.  @hckošice
