2 golds - 2 silvers in 1st day of Swimming finals:

- Elijah Winnington silver in the Men's 400m Freestyle (3:42.21)
- Ariarne Titmus  gold in the Women's 400m Freestyle (3:57.49)

-  Team gold in Women's 4x100m free relay (3:28.92 OR!)
-  Team silver in Men's 4x100m free relay (3:10.35)

All in all, there is 4 gold medal chances for us on day 1 (3 in swimming 1 in cycling) and ambitiously I want us to win at least 3. It will be tough but very possible

 

 

Goal has been met! 
Incredible first day for Australia! 

Main disappointments were the diving choke and rugby sevens but grace brown delivered in the time trial, Titmus and woman’s 4x100 were class as always

Winnington solid silver, Short disappointing 

Mens 4x100 relay is a great silver when there was no guarantee we would even medal. Im more happy about that time from Kyle. Chance for gold in 100free is on, also Titmus in the 800 considering that poor swim from katie 

 

Outside of the medals, some solid team results such as Mens basketball with the massive win over the dangerous spain 92-80, Field hockey men begin with 1-0 win over argentina.
