40k to go. Breakaway has 90 secs, so looks like a sprint from the very diminished peloton.  Think :NOR Abrahamsen has bought himself a good stint in the KoM jersey.

And then Healy attacked. Peloton isn't looking great anymore, but still 30k to go.

Well, if I were planning to move to :SMR I’d definitely buy a house in the flat bit.

This late acceleration is going to make things a bit hairy for the Cavendish gruppetto at 30 minutes already.

Can’t see the breakaway making it now with 12k of flatness.

Great first stage!

Would've loved to see the :NED debutant Van den Broek win the stage and the yellow, but I guess the seniority of Bardet is understandable. Still a beautiful moment seeing them cross the line together. And what a debut for Van den Broek, really showing himself to the world!:yikes:

Agreed, but I also love Bardet getting the yellow for the first time on his career, in his last Tour! Always an attractive rider, lots of attacks and stuff.

Looks like the peloton have learnt from yesterday & have started the catch early.

No, they are not bothering, so there’s attacks off the front that nobody’s bothering about.  Murderous climb to come….
