Looking at entries for nationals

https://www.trackie.com/entry-list/bell-track-field-trials/1005153/

No Bingham, Bichoka, Justyn Knight, Ellenwood or Ostertag. Presumably their Paris hopes are done.

Sorry who? :p

Bingham, while she might be injured and may miss Paris anyways, is currently inside the World Ranking quota on the Road to Paris site. If it’s not serious she could still qualify.

Edit: no McBride either.

Here are the scenarios for Women to qualify via ranking

100m: Sade McCreath: Needs to get an increase of minimum 60 points, she can do this by finishing in the top 2 at Nationals and a time of 11.21 (unlikely she finishes first, so will need that time or better)

200m: Jacqueline Madogo; needs 15 or more points. With a top 2 finish at nationals, she would easily get this (second place is 80 points, and would replace the 15 points for ranking in her lowest score)

400m:  3 in top 48; Konrad has the last spot, but Price is fourth and the better performing athlete. Price will need a win at nationals and a time 51.42 (her SB)

800m: Shukla + Rynda in top 48; but in the bottom three positions. They will need top 2 finishes at nationals with a time below 2:02 to cement their spots.

1500m:  Two in top 45; Third place Current cannot qualify unless she finishes first at nationals and a time of 4:04.05 or less (below her PB

5000m: Regan Yee is in the quotas, but i dont think she will race it. Staehli/Scott/Debeus Stafford are just outside (45 and 48 for the first 2). 42 will qualify. Satehli is injured and will not qualify. Scott's performance at the HJ's will bump her to within 15~ points of a quota. If she can replicated her performance at nationals she would qualify.

10,000 N/A

110m hurdles: No one else can qualify besides Abdul-Rashid/Harrison

400m hurdles: No Sutherland at nationals, which opens it up for Walker/Overholt. If Overholt wins with a time around 56 seconds she will easily be in the top 40. Will wait for next weeks rankings to comment on Walker.

3000m steeplechase: Unlikely a third qualifies (after Mcabe and Yee). Fetherstonhaugh will need a huge PB to even move up

Heptathlon: Looks bleak, only one athlete stands a remote change of qualifying: Sienna Macdonald will need to basically hit the entry standard to qualify. First time since 2004 no Canadians will be in the field.

Ill do the field events tomorrow.

@Josh will do the men's events.

What about Bingham? She’s 51st out of 56 possible quotas in the women’s 100m.

Also, how does MacDonald have a small chance at Paris? Her PB is 600+ points shy of the standard, and she’s no where close through the rankings.

@intoronto

Small is a big small :d

Bingham is not registered for nationals, and tbh i think she is retired.
