Women's Tennis ITF Billie Jean King Cup 2024

Recommended Posts

According to bookmakers Poland and Great Britain are the clear favorites in 1/2. Considering that Swiatek is playing here, it`s hard to belive that Poland will not win this. The Italians will have a difficult task tomorrow: to win 1 match in singles and reach the decisive doubles. Paolini has little chance in the Swiatek match, so a lot will depend on the match of the second players: Cocciaretto-Linette?

Hantuchova was the best Slovakian tennis women player in history?

Probably yes.

Raise your hand if you agree. It's a shame Hantuchova didn't have Cibulkova's mental fortitude though.

Why Schmidlova doesn`t play? I'm for Slovakia, because it's an easier opponent than UK in final. UK has 2 strong players from the top 100. Slovakia only 1 if Schmidlova doesn't play.

Świątek/Kawa led 5-1 in the second set and managed to lose six games in a row :coffee:

Errani's serve is terrible... She served much better when she had good results in singles some years ago.

:ITA 2 - 1 :POL

Bronzetti 2-0 Linette

Paolini 1-2 Swiatek

Errani/Paolini 2-0 Swiatek/Kawa

Back In final:hyper:

This time losing in the final will be a big disappointment for me... Especially since Poland and the Czech Republic are out. Everything depends on Paolini, who can/must win the singles and doubles in the final. The big problem is with Errani's tragic serve... If she served at Paolini's level Italy's chances would be much greater.

    • The Italian team has already achieved a better result than the Chinese team in 2022 at home. The Italian team has made enormous progress since 2023, when we were still losing to Korea and Poland. Of course, this is mainly due to naturalizations, but China did the same. It's one of the few sports that have made significant progress before these Olympics and this is how it should be in most disciplines at home games.
