the men's final, instead, will feature 8 guys from 8 different Nations :yikes:

among them, also :SVK Richard Tury @hckošice

Agustin Aquila, who recently switched to :ITA, just missed the final (10th score at the end of the day)

and this is an Olympic discipline! :wall:

To be completely fair, a lot of the big names aren’t competing (like in the men’s event) as they have chosen to rest after the Olympics…

still, it's a discipline with very little depth at the very top of the rankings (in terms of Nations, not singles) and it also doesn't make a lot of sense to me (basically you see a lot more fails than exciting runs/tricks in a competition)

still definitely not a fan, but Park makes a lot more sense, at least

gotta be honest...I know Speedskating already is a core discipline at the Winter Olympics, but I think also the Inline Speedskating should become Olympic (in Summer) and replace the Street events

World Skate should make something about it!

Falling has always been a big part of skateboarding though. Learning to withstand slams, becoming resilient, feeling the satisfaction of landing a trick, etc. are a big part of the culture of the sport.

I could see how that might frustrate some spectators, but I personally love seeing somebody finally land a trick after battling to complete it.

“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair” - Nelson Mandela

there's a limit though...

when you're the top of the pops and have a very low percentage of success in every section of the competition and that's enough to win, to me, and I underline to me, that "sport" doesn't make sense...it's just a "try something amazing and when it comes good once every while you win an important event"

being resilient and capable of getting up after a mistake, trying new things and improve yourself it's the base of every sport...in training!...not in competition, when it should be about executing better than the others something you can do almost every time with closed eyes
