I always knew Japan was good, but holy crap they’re turning into a winter-powerhouse. Only sports that they aren’t in contention are biathlon, cross country, short track speed skating, ice hockey, alpine skiing, skeleton, biathlon, and luge.

More disaster for :SWE Naeslund as she fails to advance to the big final at the Arosa WC:yikes::yikes:

but she's a freeski specialist, not a snowboarder :p

however, a true snowboarder, :ITA Nadya Ochner, has announced her retirement.

the PGS in Carezza on Thursday will be her last competition.

4 :ITA men in the quarterfinals (and no head-to-head between them, so, potentially, it could be a clean sweep at the end of the day...even if it's highly unlikely)

:ITA Nadya Ochner, retiring after today's race, is also among the last 8 in the women's race (unfortunately she fell in her QF heat, so she'll end in a place between 5th through 8th).

as usual, very unfair courses, with people on the red course winning all the races (unless they make a big mistake)

the only snowboarder losing a heat on the red course without making apparent mistakes was :ITA Lucia Dalmasso, a pathetic loser that now is our best PGS specialist left  :hairpull:

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
