Finland - China, 42-0. It's almost beyond me how that is even possible...there's 60 minutes of play, so one team is just so bad that even holding on for at least 2 minutes in between goals doesn't work...

That is, in fact, a new record for most goals scored in a match at The World Games (as far as I can tell).

Meanwhile in the men's floorball, the host quota results in, well, pain. Finland - China, 42-0. It's almost beyond me how that is even possible...there's 60 minutes of play, so one team is just so bad that even holding on for at least 2 minutes in between goals doesn't work...

Finnish women beat Canada 36-0 by the way. I've heard the Canadians may be protesting the distinct lack of ice on the field of play, but not sure that protest will be accepted.

It is 3x15 minutes ať the world games. So 45 minutes. The differences is just enormous. In normal tíme it would attack the Triple digit

There too many Continental quotas on the expenses of nations whom would deserve a spot more. But like at the olympics nowadays it is sadly this way. For some countries it is extremly difficult to qualify while others have almost free spots through their zones

Ouch, 42 goals against in 45 minutes is beyond painful. Don't get me wrong, no hard feelings towards the players and I'm sure they did their best, but yeah....that's like a 20+ to 0 football match, which you just don't see at any significant level..

Comparable only to scores the :NZL All Blacks sometimes put up in the First Round of the Rugby Union World Cup, I'd say.

"Too many continental quotas" yeah no shit it's a 1 continent sport lmao even handball is more diverse.

Not even that, it only exists in a handful of countries where field hockey never got established.

It has been on the sports programme of the SEA Games three times in the past (with another appearance scheduled for this year, I believe).

The level between different teams in the sport is quite large though.

True, international lacrosse seems to exist only to give the chance to the Iroquois, Sioux & Cherokees* to play under their own flag.  Although women's lacrosse has been long-established in Britain, I see a lot of girls carrying lacrosse sticks on the bus here in Edinburgh.

*Not called that anymore, of course.

Very much OT, but I remember last year some people from LA trying to push for the inclusion of a native team which is allready recognised by the Lacrosse federation. Any news on that ?
