Same thing went for the men in at least the last three years: nothing too weird or something at the top of the results in terms of movement.

So luge announcer started talking about possible new nations who can reach the podium. I thought he was ridiculous since that's pretty much impossible in luge, but then of course Run 1 ended with Poland claiming the lead.

Apparently Poland would have been the first new nation with a World Cup podium since Canada (Tyler Seitz got a 3rd in 2002 to open their account).

Poland’s program has been showing some real signs of improvement in the last three seasons. I think it might be a few years, but I can see them finding the podium if they continue to improve.
