Nice to see Vytautas Strolia back in points again :)

Tomas less than 1 second from pursuit, not the first time this season :p

We're still in the fight for top 17 in the nations cup. I am scared for our relays.

Any chance they swap the relays for mass starts?

I think that Kontiolahti should've stepped up and at least agreed to host a final mass start after all of the races.

Ending the season on a pursuit with mixed relays just seems so anti-climactic.

Mixed relays count for the Nations Cup. Polish men need to fend off Estonia for the fourth athlete quota (the all-important 17th place in the standings). We lost it in the very last race last season so it's not anti-climatic for some of the lesser nations!

Oh I am very much invested in this, because Lithuania can lose 100 points in relays to Estonia, Poland and Finland in their sleep.

But as an outside perspective, without nation cup at stake, I still would love to end the season with a mass start, because it's the best race to end the season on and it's always highly exciting.

Herrmann killed off the NM spring with bib #3, today she starts with #2

Eckhoff #12, Wierer #18, Oeberg #48.

I see Marte Olsbu didn't bother coming to Kontiolahti? No big shock, she was out of the overall running already.

    • Yep. Not sure if it was the NOC or the biathlon federation (I assume the latter) that put him in the Livigno training 'world' with a former Italian biathlete as coach, but they can definitely also be blamed:  almost everyone involved in that shitshow got the motivation just sucked out of them by the methods and shitty atmosphere until they either retired or changed country
