so, being Today a very sad day for me personally and a disastrous day for the Italian sport, we ended up with the minimum result (the men's windsurf bronze medal, already guaranteed since a couple of days) in terms of medals

on the other hand, we really can't complain for the 7 OQPs, which is more or less the number we expected with good optimism before the championship started

so, great tournament on average, just missing something at the top

hopefully, we'll get next year in Marseille what the bad luck took off from us this week :fingers:

Take the consolation that quotas are more important than medals in 2023. 2024 is for medals.

my 2 cents on Kitesurfing...

it might be fun to watch (for somebody, not for me), but it has nothing to do with sailing...it shouldn't be part of the Olympic schedule :pope:

on the other hand, it must be noticed how :ISR Shahar Tibi just 2 years ago was competing in the women's Dinghy (470) in Tokyo and now she's the new World Championship on the board (iQFoiL Windsurfing) :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

that's really amazing, one of the most memorable sporting efforts of the last decade for sure

Reminded me of this guy who competed in basketball at the 1964 Games and then by 1976 in Montreal had switched to sailing. Not too many obvious links between these two sports.

very weak wind today...

it was just painful watching those boats struggling so much to sail at an at least acceptable speed

they were just at the limit of the rulebook

a capital mistake cost :SUI the gold medal, with :HUN coming back from hell and making up good 8 points from the Swiss girl in the medal race, so to overtake her in the final overall standings

the best, closest and most exciting medal race of the championship just at the end, despite the very difficult weather (almost no wind)
