Alpine Canada responded and said there were a number of reasons but the main for not sending a parallel team was the busy schedule for the athletes. Competing.

It's also not an Olynpic event, so not really necessary to be competing in

What they removed it?

Yes removed. The reasoning being the men and women are competing at different venues, leading to logistical issues. We will see if it's back for 2030

That was one of my favourite events to watch. But now it makes total sense why Canada didn’t send a team, no sense wasting time and money on a non Olympic event. I bet Italy regrets that decision though since they won gold today.

It’s all kinda strange, as they also condensed the schedule as Mountaineering is also using the mens venue… but that also leaves the womens venue wide open

Also, amending the combined to be separate skiers kinda defeats the point of that event

I don’t know. I just don’t think the FIS wants to do the team event.

    • Malinin  opted for the 4-Axel in his Short Program, but faltered, landing him in 3rd thus far (and only 0.05 away from 4th!).  Surely he has the tools to rise back up in the Free Program.  (Also, perhaps this will serve to show him that he is in fact beatable.)

I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
