Non-Olympic Countries and Territories Thread

Apparently Vatican City has roughly 30 female inhabitants. I wonder how many other nations have such a high percentage of their population being an athlete :d

Yep and they have another woman (Sara Carnicelli) who was injured. So... 1/15th!

:VAT Results are below (they're at the bottom because they technically aren't official competitors). Replay: Championship of the Small States of Europe 2021 - YouTube

Why are they not official competitors?

Wow! That I didn't expect, I thought they'd join World Athletics first.

I meant to share this a few days ago. It provides a short overview of Vatican City sport.

The United States has officially recognized :NIU Niue as a country.

Could they join the 2028 Olympics? They are already a member of five federations (Judo, Rugby, Table Tennis, Weightlifting, Wrestling). Niue and the Cook Islands are uniquely classified by the UN as “non-member states”.

But, all Niueans are New Zealand citizens.

Yeah, their "free association" status with New Zealand will probably be a problem. Faroe Islands have struggled for recognition despite the support of nearby nations.
