So at the same time that Dunfee won the medal the C2 boat finished 3rd in their heat. I didn’t see the race but that doesn’t bode well.

They had the worst start but came back strong, and in time they sit fourth but less than a second from second place overall. China seems like a lock for gold

If they get a better start they should be in the hunt for a medal. The first heat , which they were in was unbelievably stacked.

And if they were in the second heat with that bad start they would have easily qualified, so can be good if they get a good start for sure, we will see come quarterfinals

C2 easily win their QF, but should be noted they were slightly slower that race than the heats.  They didn't need to go faster, so it's still unsure how they'll stack up in the semis.
