Usually when there’s CC or biathlon in Otepää they’re struggling with the weather compared to the rest of Europe.  Not this time - was -16C at the start today & snow everywhere.

Meanwhile the women's ski jumping part was cancelled, but strangely enough, not a single word about...well, what now? Usually the PCR would simply replace the ski jumping competition round, but for whatever reason there is no mention of that.

 

Edit: right, PCR can apparently not be used for mass starts, according to the rules. Weird.

    • Also a first: never before has a Dutch pair participated in the games, according to media rapports.
    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
