Bronze for Rachael Karker at the season opening halfpipe WC in Cardona! 
 

Disappointment for Cassie Sharpe as she bows out in qualification with no clean runs (she was visibly upset after her final run, nice gesture from her some of fellow competitors to console her)

Mikael Kingsbury with WC victory #91, really starting to close in on 100, with gold in moguls at the Ruka WC!

 

Edit: Also, a 4th for Maia Schwinghammer. Best ever WC result in moguls for her.

Honestly not quite sure how to feel about it… Harrington had a higher combined score than him and tied for the lead at 183.00 and yet somehow finished in 4th?

That's a really, really old rule in FIS Big Air - the two counting jumps must be of a different direction (depending on the competition, either clockwise / counterclockwise or having every variation of forward/switch or goofy/regular and clockwise/anticlockwise/straight count as a unique direction).

 

That is what the A, B and sometimes C on the result list refer to - not which direction (sadly that's not listed), but whether the jump is a repeated direction or not.

Apparently she’s now in 4th, and her score got changed? Didn’t even know that was possible, but she’ll have to wait for her first career moguls WC podium.

      Malinin  opted for the 4-Axel in his Short Program, but faltered, landing him in 3rd thus far (and only 0.05 away from 4th!).  Surely he has the tools to rise back up in the Free Program.  (Also, perhaps this will serve to show him that he is in fact beatable.)

      I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->

      Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)

      Confirmation about the broadcasting rights.   If I'm reading it right, for most of Europe it will now be exclusive to Discovery/Eurosport or whatever brand they use.     For outside Europe, it's on YouTube.       Surely. Her first coach now works in russia (and grandma lives in russia according to Sereda). They were in contact and despite of full funding from  the girl decided to become the star of russian propaganda.  As I saw in X: "It took the Russians four years of war to find a relatively well-known sports personality to carry out such a propaganda operation."

      ... this week, time depending.   Today (Dec 5) 4:00pm: Swimming US Open - Finals 9:00pm: Freestyle Skiing WC Big Air Beijing  9:30pm: Snowboard WC Parallel Giant Slalom Mylin   Dec 6 2:00am: Snowboard WC Big Air Beijing 6:45am: Freestyle Skiing WC Aerials Ruka 4:00pm: Swimming US Open - Finals 9:30pm: Snowboard WC Parallel Giant Slalom Mylin   Dec 7 7:30am: Freestyle Skiing WC Moguls Ruka 9:45am: Ski Mountaineering WC Soltitude Mixed Relay   Dec 8 6:30am: Freestyle Skiing WC Moguls Ruka   Dec 9   Dec 10   Dec 11 4:45am: Ski Cross WC Val Thorens 7:00pm: Snowboard Halfpipe WC Secret Garden   Bills, Warriors, and Canucks (have a headache, can't be bothered to put it in...)   No Elite 16 beach volleyball, weak field and most of the top teams have shut down their seasons already.
