Will be interesting to see what our Canoe sprint team can do in the future. Antun Novakovic has reached the final today in U23 K1 1000m. Anamaria Govorcinovic will compete in K1 200m and 500 m, which are both olympic disciplines. Vanesa Tot competes in junior competition, she has only reached Final B in C1 500m, but C1 200m is still to come.

Only 4th place for Sara Kolak. Probably the first disappointment in her senior career. The field wasn't even that strong, she just couldn't find her form.

Also a pity that Ivan Horvat has been stagnating for a while now.

But a nice surprise medal for Stipe Zunic. He has had a great year, constantly throwing over 21 meters.

Also finally some good results in junior rowing. The women's four has been very impressive lately.

Yeah, women's fours generally lacks competitiveness on the senior level as it only became an Olympic event. Maybe they can make it to Tokyo, though they'll likely be too young.

Does anyone know our team for The Universiade

i know we will have a male team in gymnastics plus one girl, few people in judo ( something like b or c team). There will be I guess few in athletics, I heard about Ruzic and Dudek (both 400m).

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like too many people care about Universiade here (I don't think I have ever seen Croatian entries before the official Universiade entries are published by the organizers). Lack of interest pretty much culminated earlier this year when we sent a team of zero athletes to Almaty.

I found a bit more about our team:

in archery Mario Vavro compound

in diving Juraj Melsa

in gymnstics the team is Matija Baron, Renato Prpic, Jakov Vlahek, Kristijana Vugrinski and Ema Kajic

in Athletics Dudek and Lucija Pokos seem confirmed

in Judo Azinovic 60kg, Draskovic 66kg, Beljic 90kg and M.Kumric 100kg; Matijevic 48kg, Sikic 52kg, Blagojevic 63kg, Babic 70kg, Sutalo +78kg

it is also clear no team sports, and we don't have anyone in fencing, weightlifting

for the rest will have to wait the update of the official site

Fantela brothers in 8th place after 3 races at the 49er WCH. I did not expect it would work that well already in the first year.

Still bit bit worried about our sailing national team, i don't see young talents when the current team retires. In Tokio we could end up with 5 sailors only (laser, laser radial, Finn and 49ers)

:CRO CROATIAN ROAD TO TOKYO 2020 :CRO

We can already say that qualifications for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games started. On August 31st our men's U21 football team started their qualifications for 2019 U21 UEFA European Championship in Italy. Our team is in group 1 with Belarus, Czech Republic, Greece, Moldova and San Marino. Group winners and four best runners-up from all nine groups will qualify for the final tournament. Best four teams from that tournament will qualify for Olympic Games. Our team played their 1st round match in Moldova and won 3-0. Goalscorers were Ćorić and Brekalo who scored two goals. Next match we play on October 5th against Belarus in Varždin.

Croatian football team has never qualified for Olympic Games.
