really great day for us (if we win in waterpolo fantastic)

Of course cannot add much to the gold medal, great job josip!

the shooters are our stars so far, gold plus two finals and still few chances, fingers crossed!

Cilic is through, Konjuh lost, but she was close in the first set

Sailing started very good. Stipanovic  1st after 2 race, Tina MIhelic 11th  but with great result in second race

Even Mratovic is good in 14th , which much better than i expected

The only really negative thing today was Gacina, he had actually a good draw, no chinese until semi final,

Well...

Great Performance by Glasnovic!

It's our third medal in shooting and the first sport in which we have won a medal in three consecutive Summer Olympics.

Gacina was really disappointing. I was confident that he might reach the quarterfinals. He has beaten Samsonov several times in the past years i think. Ovtcharov probably would have been to much for him anyway.

Cilic from now on will really be tested. Even if he beats in-form Monfils, then probably Nishikori would be waiting. Its doable for him, but very tough.

Our Handball Team seems to be in bad shape. I was hoping they can do a medal, now I doubt. I am afraid france and denmark will destroy us. And then with Tunis you never know.

Basketball, bit disappointIng,  but my expectations are low. QF would be great., and hopefully not against USA.

sailing, okish. Second day was not that good as first. Tonci and Bambi are still in the game. I am afraid Tina is out of the battle for medals, she needs few top finishes in the next regatas.

Today full concentration  on Matic and sailing. Čilic and water pool will be interesting as well.

I'm a bit dissapointed with Matic in judo. I know she wasn't among favorites, but she didn't show much in her fight agenst lower ranked judoka.

I hope that we will have more luck in sailing today.

So still no Olympic judo win for Croatia... Even Puerto Rico is much.

Sep is not surprising. I really got tired of hearing how nothing but medal counts for him... Medal was always impossible.

Stipanovic is 1st after 6 of 10 races (+ medal race) and Fantela/Marenic had a good start into the competition with a 1st and a 2nd place.

Kljakovic Gaspic didn't have a good day, at the moment it doesn't look like he has a chance for a medal.

I hope that our basketball Team will now win two of the last three group games. One win against Nigeria might even be enough to reach the quarterfinals, but that would probably mean 4th place and a game against USA. To be eliminated in the quarterfinals wouldn't be tragic, but I would like us to have at least a realistic chance of going even further than that. Petrovic is sometimes really annoying and his behavior has hurt the Team, but I doubt that they would even be there without him.

Let's see if our handball team can turn things around. They certainly have to, if they want to challenge France, Denmark or possibly Germany in quarterfinals.

Semifinal in Single sculls will now take place on friday. Let's hope that Sinkovic Brothers and Pejcic can live up to expectations tomorrow.

    • Update after Matchdays 8 and 9.   Group A:  is almost a lock with 21p, and 7 games 7 wins. Almost impossible for them to not qualify. The battle is in the second place between  (16p) and  (13p).  with 8p is almost out.  and  eliminated.   Group B:  won both of the 2 games so is almost secured with 19p.  is second with 14p, with  (1 more game played) and  with 11p.  is eliminated and  practically too (6p)   Group C:  went 2 out of 2 so they are still first with 16p and one game less than the rest. The battle for second place will be between  14p,  11p and  9p.  eliminated and  (with one game less and 4p) probably too.   Group D: Only 3 for 2 places.  first with 19p has the advantage, but coming close is  with 16p. They played each other in the Matchday 11 of 12. Coming in third behind is  with 11p. ,  and  eliminated.   Group E: Both  and  won both matches so its still the same, Poland first with 24p and Italy second with 21p, which is the best runner-up and also qualifying directly, so is very likely that both teams end up qualifying no matter who finish first and second. , ,  and  eliminated.   Group F: A tie between  18p and  18p. Germany has the goal advantage (+21 to +20), and has to play the three weaker teams, so its more likely to qualify. Coming behind are  with 10p and  with 9p, which are practically eliminated with  and   Group G:  takes the advantage with 12p and one game less.  and  both have 7p, and coming behind are  5p (but one game less) and  with 5p.   Group H:  with the win against  moved to first place with 13p (and one game less), and Turkey stays in second with 11p.  is coming in third with 8p, while  is eliminated and  have 3p and one game less.   Group I: A triple tie between ,  and  with 10p. Belgium have the advantage because they have the best head to head points and one game less. Austria is second in the H2H difference and Denmark is third but with also one game less.  have 6p and  is eliminated.   The next 3 and last matchdays will define the 10 qualified teams and the 8 that will go to the playoffs. Matchdays will be 24-26 September, 28Sep-1Oct and 5-6 October, 2026.
