Not a different sport than most others in that regard, every sport has 'unique' characters

But what makes dart different from other sports is that the players make it interesting , not the game, in my opinion.

I partially agree  

 

It's nice to see more emotion than one often sees in other sports, but in the end for me it's mostly the match itself that makes it interesting.

Mickey Mansell against Jim Long was some good old-fashioned anti-darts, averaging under 80 for both of them.
