:MEX barely overtakes :COL on the final dive of the men’s 3m synchro. 0.39 points has to be one of the smallest margins of victory in the sport.

:BER also pulled off a bronze double in the cycling time trials. I hope their cyclists get a little more attention moving forward. They had a great showing at the Commonwealth Games last year, and continental championships earlier this year.

Gold goes to Bolaños :ESA. I don’t keep up with equestrian outside of multi-sport games, but I’d imagine this is somewhat surprising @dcro?

Roban :VIN gets silver in the men’s 800m :cheer:

 

The livestream unfortunately crashed right before the race :(

 

Edit: Maitia :VEN is disqualified after a protest, meaning Roban :VIN is upgraded to gold! :yikes:

Pérez :CUB and Povea :CUB have also provisionally qualified for the Olympics. You need a mark past the Olympic standard in order to make the podium.

      Regarding the swimming they have added the 800m for men and the 1500m for women so cutting numbers would be odd.

      Has the quota for Canada been offically confirmed anyway, or is that just a rumour? I can't find anything on google about it (nor the suggested quota for England's athletes someone posted earlier).   12 per gender would make sense (it's roughly what Canada sent to Birmingham). 12 overall seems dumb.

      In the past few games, Canada (and other nations) was given an overall athlete quota which they then divided it through the various sports.
