Time for Event #4 in our IMAGINARY SUMMER OLYMPICS series.

These are olympic champions in certain event.

Imagine that all these champions are on the top of their game at the very same moment in time.

Who would have won gold?

Be aware that the voting ends at Sunday March 6th, 9 a.m. CET.

These pollls are like event start lists, who would win, what you think?

@Griff88 @Vic Liu @Wumo @Agger any tips for that one?

not an expert, but :CHN Lin Dan is the name I heard the most as the GOAT among the male specialists...2 Olympic titles, many World and Asian Gold medals to be added, long time no.1 in the world...

I guess nobody could even get close to him when he was on top of his game...

I picked Lin Dan. I remember watching him play in the late 2000's and start 2010's, and he was almost unstoppable. Two Olympic titles and went to win the 2008 Olympic gold medal without losing a set. Not the only player who has achieved this, but still impressive. Lin Dan, at his best, was probably the best ever men's singles' player in badminton history.

I think we need to speed up a bit.

At this rate, we will not make the polls for all 329 events before real Paris 2024 olympics get started.

So this polls ends on Sunday morning CET.

And after that there will be 2 or 3 polls every week and there will be 3 events in each poll.

Do you think it's a good idea? Let me know.

And god bless :UKR civilians.

@SindoI have written here before that this week I will prepare another series of polls here, a kind of contest for users, with predicting the results of certain events, points to get for it, sth similar to what I've done during Beijing games.

But unfortunately, due to a lot of work at the court, and being quite involved in some activities helping Ukrainian refugees here in Poland, I am not able to do it.

I will do it later when things settle down.

For now on, I'll stick to the imaginary olympics series, maybe it's not the best moment for this either, but I also need some kind of relief and joy these days. So I will keep making these polls even if not many users vote in them.

Have a good day everyone,

stay safe.

    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
