also Miroslava Jedinakova (-64 kg) won her bout today...;)

 

p.s. also a pair of Italian girls won their respective matches...and looking at what they're doing with Italy in this tournament, it's almost a miracle...:rofl::facepalm:

and we also have the first medallists of the championships...

 

in fact, both the men's -49kg and the women's -69 kg already completed their quarterfinal bouts...

 

and those semifinalists are:

Apart from Popp absolutely horrible results once again for Germany. Her goal clearly has to be the gold medal, considering that she won a bronze medal last year. I think she is the only german female boxer who has a chance at qualifying for Tokyo.

considering that the serial medallists are the usual RUS, KAZ and the returning on top (after a few years of "punishment") THA, I wouldn't call them the "champs of money"...:crazy:

it's just the usual political sh*t run by AIBA...:facepalm::wall:

      Regarding the swimming they have added the 800m for men and the 1500m for women so cutting numbers would be odd.

      Has the quota for Canada been offically confirmed anyway, or is that just a rumour? I can't find anything on google about it (nor the suggested quota for England's athletes someone posted earlier).   12 per gender would make sense (it's roughly what Canada sent to Birmingham). 12 overall seems dumb.

      In the past few games, Canada (and other nations) was given an overall athlete quota which they then divided it through the various sports.
