time for the Continental Championships 2022...

first to be completed, the Panamerican Championships

Right now, only Saber is still a US only affair.

women's Individual Epee: :ARG Isabel Di Tella
men's Individual Epee: :VEN Ruben Gascòn Limardo
women's Individual Foil: :CAN Eleanor Harvey
men's Individual Foil: :USA Alexander Massialas
women's Individual Sabre: :USA Anne-Elizabeth Stone
men's Individual Sabre: :USA Daryl Homer

women's Team Epee: :USA United States
men's Team Epee: :VEN Venezuela
women's Team Foil: :CAN Canada
men's Team Foil: :USA United States
women's Team Sabre: :USA United States
men's Team Sabre: :USA United States

Full Results and Rankings are available on the FIE website (just choose the "Previous Competitions" link on top of the page):

big loss for the German team...basically, a nail on their coffin (not that they were real contenders, but still)...

Damn, there goes one of the teams for the European quota. I guess the Hungarian girls now have a slightly better chance to qualify.

:ITA Arianna Errigo is going to give birth to a couple of twins next March, she announced on her social media.

she won the individual silver and the team gold medal at the 2022 world champs when she was already pregnant :yikes:

she also said that she already got pregnant just after Tokyo 2020, but she lost the baby after 3 (very difficult) months, causing her a lot of mental troubles.

coming back to the gym and practicing the sport she loves was the only reason she could recover from that tragedy and look ahead.

    • changes that go absolutely against the Italians (notoriously the top swimmers and not the best shooters in MP) 😭😭😭   now it's really time to axe MP from the Games 😈🥳
    • I think there was a feeling before the obstacle course was introduced that really, really solid endurance runners were starting to dominate - in Triathlon you might call it the Alex Yee conundrum. Personally, I don't mind at all if the 'martial' elements are reemphasised as that is the real 'soul' of the sport - Triathlon, Marathon and Road cycing are there for genuine endurace, MP is in some senses a 'soldiery' test - one reason I thought Judo might have been a better addition than the obstacle course. But placing a higher emphasis on the fight bits over the flight bits seems a legitimate idea - though it should also increase the X-country nature of the run so that the test of a fresh shooter at the beginning is rather different from the test of a knackered one at the end. I quite like the artificial hill in rio.
