Round-Robin Day 1 Schedule (GMT +1)

 

13:00  :HUN Hungary vs Kazakhstan :KAZ

16:30  :NOR Norway vs Latvia :LAT

20:00  :DEN Denmark vs Belarus :BLR

 

 

*Tournament Format:

  • 6 Nations play a usual Round-Robin tournament, Each team play once every opponent,

(Regular Time win - 3points, Overtime or Penalty Shoot-Out win - 2 points, Overtime or Penalty Shotout loss - 1 point, regular Time Loss - 0 points)

In case of points tie between two teams the tie-breaker is the head to head direct result.

  • The first ranked Nation will qualify for the Men´s Under 20 World Championships next year in 2023.
  • The Nations ranked 2nd-5th will stay in this division also for the next season,
  • The last ranked 6th Nation will be relegated to the Men´s Under 20 Division I Group B World Championships 2023.

Quite a lot of political background tensions between :BLR and :LAT was in the air during this extremely important game...

 

 

at the end :BLR won this very likely whole tournament decider

      In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.

      Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.

      I will just say that I'd like to live to see a time when we have someone like Stolz- a phenomenon who can win you 3 or 4 gold medals. A guy who, you know, if he goes at 100%, no one else will beat him. That's what happened to France with Marchand in swimming in 2024.
