There is a decent chance Jasey-Jay Anderson will qualify for his seventh Olympics :P

Anyway, Alpine snowboarding is sort of it’s own niche and has been for a long time, it really doesn’t have anything in common with cross or park & pipe anymore (there used to be crossover between those disciplines but that’s very much a thing of the past).

Yeah, I know lots of people, mostly Americans and Brits, who only care about snowboard (freestyle) when it comes to the Winter Olympics.  It very much attracts lots of casual viewers who probably wouldn't be interested in the WOG otherwise.

I'm doing my part, trying to ease them into freestyle skiing since it's mostly the same thing.  And, of course, curling.

  • 2 weeks later...

The "charm" of the last Pre-Olympic race strikes again. Alex Deibold :USA had a very very bad crash in the boardercross qualifier today in Cortina :( Will never understand that obsession to have races in dangerous sports just handful of days before Olympics at any costs... this has covid infections and serious injuries scripted all over

We already seeing people either DNSing or pausing at the start & riding down solo.

wowww what a return from nowhere to the lead from Charlotte Bankes in her semifinal. That was quite a manoeuver. wow

Could not believe it, went from last to first in about 50m.

Did not realise that Samkova was out injured: she was really the only person to challenge Bankes.
