Any idea when the time and dates will be out?? Need to write time schedule who plays 1st round what day and what time ..... Will this be released after the doubles draw??
ExpandIs it not too late for a replacement ?
It probably is, now they mentioned that Siniakova will play singles, too. But probably no replacement for Vondroušova to doubles. Let's see what they come up with ....
Vondroušova out due to hand injury 🤕 🤕. ..... Waiting for replacement announcement....
When will be the draw?
Expand
Barbora Krejcikova wins the women's final 6-2 2-6 6-4 over
Jasmine Paolini.
Still it's a huge upset given Krejcikova's poor season and the injury troubles she had. The draw collapsed in the early rounds alas she beat the big favorite Rybakina in SF so there is that.
Paolini is set to become the next Jabeur at this rate.
Now, quickly back on clay 😁😁😁
By the way, Siniakova and Nosková have signed up for Prague Open as well. Probably Siniakova and Krejčíková will also practice there the doubles cooperation .
ExpandWithdrawal is not Krejcikova's style :-) it seems the same as in 2021, she will play everything which cause her other health problems in next 2 years.
Can't argue with that. But the final will most likely be on July 26th and first round of singles in Paris is 27th and 28th. That would be really tight. Transfer to Paris, rest, physio, training. No time for these things. From my point of view, if she made it to semifinal in Prague, she might be considering withdrawal and transfer to Paris. She probably wants to take a few games on clay as a preparation for the Olympic tournament.
Barbora Krejčíková mentioned that she will play in Prague open which is from July 20th in order to adjust to the clay. Well, she has reached Wimbledon semifinal, I am wondering if she would not get too far and get too tired...... Or maybe like play in Prague, if she goes to quarter or semi, then withdraw, transfer to Paris, have 1 day off and play?
squad for Paris Games
Men's singles: Tomáš Machač, Jakub Menšík
Men's doubles: Tomáš Machač/Adam Pavlásek
Women's singles: Barbora Krejčíková, Markéta Vondroušova, Linda Nosková, Karolína Muchová
Women's doubles: Barbora Krejčíková/Kateřina Siniakova , Karolína Muchová/Markéta Vondroušova
Mixed Doubles: will sign in Tomáš Machač/Kateřina Siniakova
ExpandAccording wiki,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennis_at_the_2024_Summer_Olympics_–_Qualification
Mixed Doubles maybe below:
Siniakova will most likely play with her BF Tomáš Machač as Lehecka withdrew from Wimbledon and OG both due to injury.
I am currently thinking of possibility forming doubles team as Tomas Machač SR#38 and Adam Pavlásek DR#36
There might be a solid chance....
ExpandYes, it is really sad for a young player with so much talent. He just can't seem to stay healthy. Has hardly played 4 or 5 events all year but has done quite well when healthy.
Yeah, I guess that after the communication with the coach and team doctor, he does not want to rush back on court as it may get worse. Back injury - vertebra is a serious thing and should be treated wisely. So I understand his decision. Now, I am hoping he will fully recover, maybe come back on court some time in fall and will be even stronger. And surely will also aim for LA28 :-)
ExpandLehecka has withdrawn, as per his X post -
Unfortunately due to vertebra injury he hasn't been on court for some time. He was hoping to make it to Wimbledon and he was nearly sure he would be able to make it to Paris. Unfortunately, the injury still does not let him play. Such a talented player and big loss for our tennis team at the Games 😭
ExpandAs a general rule I don't trust Wikipedia, but based on their list,
Schmiedlova is the last auto qualifier in 80th place. Harriet Dart is the best placed Brit ranked 92nd - strip out the nations who already have full squads and I think she would be something like 6th reserve - so not impossible for her to sneak in.
I would guess maybe some withdrawals have been announced to ITF but they haven't been published in media yet ....
ExpandHi, is the list of qualified players listed by ITA anywhere
I think it will be out earliest of 19th June as it's the deadline until national tennis federations should confirm the name lists. Then may come the reallocations....
ExpandAnyway, in the end, I am sure Mensik will be in. This early cut will drop quite a bit. Probably at least 5-6 spots.
Thanks of your kind words of Jakub he is really huge talent. He had a break due to a small injury but he is back. He mentioned for media he would be happy to go to the Games but if he doesn't go, it doesn't matter as he is still very young and will surely be aiming for LA28. But according to the current ranking it shows he may make the cut 😊🤞

Wow, this article sounds pretty negative. Yeah, Jozef Kovalik is currently 119th so it is highly impossible. But Smiedlova with 80th place, I think she still has descent chances.....
ExpandYeah, too bad she failed to qualify as she was the only one in the fight, but honestly if she was not able to even qualify through the ranking despite millions of quotas awarded there, then she can really just blame herself
Well, according to https://live-tennis.eu/en/olympics-race-women-singles she is 80th in the Olympic ranking, I think there is still a chance she will make it. Wiki shows she is on the list, I know we can't always trust the wiki updates but I believe that she will make the cut.
ExpandI've done a calculation in which they could have 86 athletes, only having 2 or 3 doubles pairs outside the top10, but this would be very harsh
Yeah, I have been counting that, but it's quite unlikely unless we see many withdrawals.
For example, when I counted , if Menšík really qualifies, how to make a second pair if the first would be Lehecka/Machač? Maybe it could be Adam Pavlásek who is currently 36th in doubles ranking. If Pavlásek was in top 20, I would say it is doable. But for 36th place, it is kinda highest he has even been but still there are many players ahead of him who also may pair up with other singles players.
Anyways, speaking of withdrawals, I guess we will read about most of them in June as ITF will probably require all the tennis players, especially from singles, to confirm their participation as soon as possible.
I am bit sad about Novak who had to undergo meniscus surgery and having that less than 2 months before the Games, I am starting to feel that he may not be able to make it. Such a pity because thats the only title he has been missing. Still hope he can make it🙏🙏
