  1. Tamara Mesíková made it to the main round in Wisla https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=JP&raceid=6528 Already her 2nd WC main race after the 40th place in Oberhof last season which is still the nations best women ski jumping result ever, if she will manage to beat at least one opponent tomorrow, another huge pb and nr will be written into the recordbooks Btw I just did some googling to answer my own question, when was the last time a Slovak ski jumper won points in a World Cup race, and after a very long detective work I found that it was in Sapporo 1997 with a 1 valuable point earned by Marián Bielčík https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=JP&competitorid=4888&raceid=754 EDIT: Wrong, Martin Mesík was 29th in Engelberg in 2005. wow what a hero ! https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=JP&competitorid=39826&raceid=1991
  2. Please accept our condolences on the death of your father.
  3. Stefan "the Great" Ionescu passed away at 87 Perhaps the most legendary Romanian ice-hockey player and coach, Stefan Ionescu. Although he was short in height, was nicknamed "Stefan the Great", as both a player and a coach he was one of the main leader of the greatest successes of Romanian ice hockey in the 1960s until the beginning of the 1980s. In 1964 and 1968 he represented Romania at the Winter Olympic Games. After a successful playing career, he coached the national team bench. Romania´s most memorable result under his lead is the 5:4 victory over the USA in the 1977 World Champs relegation group. However, it was not enough to save Romania and they were relegated to the B-division.

  6. will officially ask IOC to change its name with immediate effect from Czech Republic to Czechia. The Czech Olympic Committee announced it, the majority of the Czech sport federations approved the proposition during its general assembly. They will ask IOC to immediatelly change the name and also demand that the new abbreviated designation to be used in all international sports competitions and at the Olympics games already from Paris. so no more Czech ripablik folks, from now on only Czechia https://www.olympijskytym.cz/article/cesky-olympijsky-vybor-pozada-o-zapis-nazvu-czechia-do-mezinarodni-sportovni-databaze

  8. So, what was originally called a cyber-attack and cribled the parliament IT system On Thursday, parliament speaker Boris Kollár held a televised briefing where he explained that voting would be canceled as an investigation is conducted into the incident. “We have identified a cyber security incident… There is a signal coming from some point which jams our systems, computers, we cannot even serve the lawmakers in our cafeteria,” Kollár told reporters in a televised briefing. The National Security Office (NSB) later released a statement confirming that it received a report on a “cybersecurity incident” that occurred at the National Council. finally turned out to be just a simple wrongly connected cables during technical repair I can not stop laugh from this country, sometimes, new memes obviously strating to go ultra viral "and you know how they call a wrongly connected cable in Slovakia ?" 12. a guy in Slovakia bet 44 matches with an eventual win of 300000 EUR... The first days he predicted theright results, after half of his matches ended correctly he decided to not risk anymore and returned (sold) the ticket back to the betting company for 4000 EUR... Imagine that, later he found out that he correctly predicted also all the remaining games Poor guy The crazy ticket

  15. I always loved this kid, because of his name. Fizel in slovak means "cop", well, not exactly the word cop, but rather a vulgar word for describing a policeman, something like snooper but worse anyway, good luck to him, would be something exceptional to win a medal in this sport for us even at this stage.

  22. yesterday I went to a supermarket in Hungary near the border, I hardly saw any Hungarian license plates there, only Slovak ones, even in the queue at the cash desk I heard mainly Slovak. Everyone (like me) was holding 5 liters of oil, if you keep selling it so cheap, I don´t know in what you´re going to fry and cook, we'll buy it all from you Seriously not even 6 EUR for 5 liters, here it is more than the double of that
