PS: Yesterdays medals were dedicated to the very popular teammate and fellow great athlete and Paris 2024 hopeful Surfer Israel Barona who tragically passed away at his 34. 5 - 10 - 15 Medals of the Day Lucia Yepez, Freestyle Wrestling W -53kg Gold Valeria Echever, Karate W Kumite +68kg Silver Jeremy Peralta, Greco-Roman Wrestling M -60kg Bronze Genesis Reasco, Freestyle Wrestling W -76kg Bronze
  4. I wonder if there would be one Slovak athlete in the team I guess a couple of lads would make the hockey team at the Winter Olympics and + Vlhová can be the picked one for Slalom... but at the Summer Games ? no idea, Salkazanov ? maybe, yeah, that would be one I guess, who else ? Barteková ? probably not I guess it would be an Italian in Skeet so that should be all

  9. Wait, what ? Who, for everything on earth would want to flee, Escape or run away to Russia ?
  10. First and sole medal for For the surprise of nobody, Monika Chochlíková won the Muay Thai -51kg beating in the final the Hodl by unanimous decision The girl is a star in Slovakia, literally a celebrity and not for no reason I mean... She won everything is possible in this sport, did not lost a match since like the extinction of the dinosaurs... except obviously her one "controversial" defeat already in the quarterfinals at the European Games this year, which still smells quite fishy, but ok, let it be, it already happened and I guess the had to win medal there, eventually she won the whole thing at the end, despite all her wins were quite controversially received by both professional and lay general community and public Monika Chochlíková´s Amateur level (Last 3 years record) Professional level (Last 3 years record)
  11. Nice jinx thread For it can turn in either way, a magic historic games or complete failure and fiasco... So anything between zero and let say 4-5 medals is possible, let´s hope for the latter than the former though for athletes who may aspire realistically to medal I do believe we can count mainly on Tajmuraz Salkazanov (If he qualify obviously, which is far from to be a safe thing...), followed by more or less similar chances to Danka Barteková, maybe the traditional Olympic medalist Zuzana Rehák-Štefečeková and with a bit smaller chances Eliška Mintálová, Matej Beňuš and who knows maybe even Jakub Grigar if he´ll find his form from last years next year
  12. Ecuadorian sports experienced an extremely successful day yesterday. 5 medals including an unusual statistical anomaly, with medals won in the same events among genders, 2 Golds in M Road Race & M 20km Race Walk, while 2 Silvers in W Road Race & W 20km Race Walk Funny enough both golds, although they were among the expected ones, were not won by the most expected faces like Richard Carapaz and Brian Pintado, but by the so-called "others" Jonathan Narvaez and David Hurtado. As already mentioned both silvers came from the exactly same events, among Ladies, with probably the most emotional medal of the games for team Myriam Nuňez who dedicated in tears the medal to her grandfather who passed away last days and Glenda Morejon in Race Walk, once again, probably the least expected to medal from the 3 Ecuadorian entries in the discipline. Later another one, this time a Bronze joy completed a very successful day for Ecuador, with Judoka Celinda Coroza earning bronze in the up to 70kg class. 4 - 7 - 12 Medals of the Day David Hurtado, Athletics M 20km Race Walk Gold Jhonatan Narvaez, Road Cycling M Road Race Gold Glenda Morejón, Athletics W 20km Race Walk Silver Myriam Nuňez, Road Cycling W Road Race Silver Celinda Coroza, Judo W -70kg Bronze

  16. Since there nothing in my mailbox, I assume my young crush did not make any special impression on you then
  17. Yep, a day to remember. 23.10.2023 I found this article with 3 sentences, but still better than nothing I guess Korfball - WCh: The match with the Czech Republic was fatal, Slovakia will not play for medals Slovak national Team in korfball will not compete for medals at the WCh in Taiwan. They lost to the Czech Republic 13:21 on Monday in a direct battle for advancement to the quarterfinals. On Tuesday, Slovakia's next match against Catalonia will determine the final position in the super-round Group I. If successful, they will fight for the final 9-12. place, a loss will condemn them to the fights for 13.-16. the place.
  18. This only proves again what I am saying for years... Natural venue in canoe Slalom works well and maybe even better than luxurious artificial extremely expensive tracks and venues. Really no need of them, Olympic organizers would reduced costs by millions and millions, but obviously this is not the way IOC want to go... Last time we had Natural track was the Lake Ocoee in Atlanta 1996 and it is considered as still the best Canoe Slalom Olympics competitions ever
  19. Just realized we did participate That´s super Cool. But, why there not mercy rule in this sport when you face NED ? 15th place at WCh is I believe very solid result for a country where I literally find the word Korfball in a media only last week for the very first time in my life So well done, Team whoever you are folks
