Michalovce a city from the east of the country won the 7th game in Žilina 1-2 and the whole serie 3-4 ! Michalovce qualified for the first time ever to the national championship (the closest of the top tier national league they were so far in 1985/86 when they won the Slovak zone of 2nd Czechoslovak league but failed in the final qualification play-off against the Czech zone winner Vítkovice) In other side Žilina will be relegated from the national championship after 18 consecutive seasons.
