  1. The winner of Boston and 6th place her was a teacher. Many marathon runners have to have “real” jobs to be able to support themselves in the West since there’s not state funding for sports, which is just a shame.
  2. Here’s that huge edit to Gayle’s page people were waiting for :
  3. While I agree that there’s huge, huge contempt towards any non-traditional country doing well, Kenya has athletes on tape getting EPO. Not to mention that athlete after athlete from Kenya is testing positive lately.
  4. The way some many Canadians are treating Kaillie Humphries is disgraceful, disrespectful, and deplorable. She won your country 3 Olympic medals (two of which were gold, and one those was in Canada!), 3 overall World Cup titles, 2 world championships, and world championship bronze while being the female driver of a four-man bobsled! It’s so disgusting to see Canadian’s saying things like “good riddance”, “I hope she gets her ass kicked”, “I hope she never wins again”, and calling her the Antonio Brown of bobsled. Notably these are mostly men saying these things, so I honestly do blame her for leaving, but people need to grow the fuck up. She didn’t murder someone, she didn’t dope, she didn’t cheat, she rose to fame representing Canada, she didn’t abuse her teammates, she didn’t attack anyone. Ahh! Why do white dudes (excluding myself, cause I woke.) got to be so bad? Bros, be complaining about women or anything progressive all the time. “Women can’t run farther than 800m”, “Black people aren’t actually human”, etc. White dudes are fucking insane. I thought this whole white nationalist thing was an American, and maybe in some cases, a European problem, but this is just insane coming from Canada. I really do wish Humphries the best, though I highly doubt the environment over here is better... I still love Canada, but y’all need to chill the fuck out and go play ice hockey to take out your anger on each other.
  5. Dunfee with so hard logic last night:
  6. So after a bit of digging, it seems like the Pan Arab Games May be back from the dead. Most people thought the games were done after the 2015 fiascos (something 3-5 nations withdrew from hosting the games as the impacts of the Arab Spring and ISIS were felt across the region). However, it seems there’s still work going on behind the scenes. Rumor has it, because I’ve seen nothing official to confirm it, that has been chosen as the host for the 2021 edition of the games. There’s no website, that I could find, or any sort of notice from the organizing committee as to if the games will actually take place. It would be fun to see these historic games continue, especially since they’re one of the few I’ve never been able to watch.
  7. 17 women finish the 50km Race Walk. Just, and I mean just, under and hour difference between 1st and 17th
  8. Waiting to see if anyone finishes past the 5 hour mark.
  9. 28 men finish the Race Walk
  10. Just give an idea of how long today was, I woke up at 6AM for the start of the Field events, and now I’m finishing the Race Walks at 6PM
  11. I was wondering the same thing. Men’s 20km is next week.
  12. 1st and 25th in the men’s race a separate by around 35 minutes currently. That’s just ridiculous.
  13. Giorgi heading for bronze in the women’s race @Gianlu33
  14. It’s nice to give Canada some charity every once in a while .
  15. Burnett is just waking, not race walking. Not sure if she’s going to make it.
  16. This race really grew on me. I’ll remember this race more than the 100m probably.
  17. And off the medical tent for Suzuki Might be a common theme amongst finishers...
  18. 6th for Boyce
  19. I take my hat off to anyone who finishes either of these walks tonight.
