  1. Yes that’s right! I forgot about that scandal. Shame on
  2. Athletes, who aren’t terrorists or have major criminal records, should always be allowed into a country for a major international event. I totally agree.
  3. Which is odd coming from . I don’t know they were a country that would do that. They hosts events without problems all the time. I’ll have to follow this story.
  4. Well they were only like 3rd-4th place at the European Championships I believe. They also won the 2nd tier championships just to get to those ones.
  5. Well most Jewish people have some understanding and knowledge of Hebrew because they have to if they read the Torah. For those that don’t, like many Ukrainian Jews, Israel offers lessons on Israeli history, culture, and language in Ukraine before those people choose to immigrate. Vice News did a great 3-5 part series on the process that can be found on YouYube.
  6. Well, Israel has made it easy for people to dislike them. Just to be clear on my position, I hate the Israeli right-wing government, not the people themselves. I have no problem with naturalized athletes competing for other countries. My only problem is rich countries buying off talent for poorer countries. Otherwise there’s not much you can do. Plus, many people, like @heywoodu I believe, like individual athletes and not the flag they fly. I’ll admit that I mostly cheer for certain countries over athletes, but generally I support individual athletes too. These guys had a dream to go to the Olympics and they succeeded against what at first were thought to be better teams. I’m very happy for them.
  7. No, because your ethnicity isn’t historically Jewish. You can’t hate a country for having near open borders like Israel. That’s something they’ve done that I actually like. Though I imagine it still wouldn’t be too hard to be granted citizenship...
  8. Trump spent the morning attacking Joe Biden’s dead son . I’m not saying that his son’s actions shouldn’t be questioned if they were illegal. I just think it’s something that no one wants to see. I mean this isn’t even a story because of the 3 million other shity things that happen in my country daily nowadays. It’s all in response to a bombshell report by multiple respectable news outlets that Trump asked Ukraine to spy on and dig up dirt on Joe Biden or he’d cut off US aid to Ukraine (which if actually proven could realistically get him impeached (It won’t, but I like the thought))
  9. If you’re Jewish you’re automatically an Israeli citizen (you still have to apply to become one obviously). To be fair to Israel, they only have like 2 generations of natural born citizens. Plus, Haredi aren’t going to fill the ranks of national sports teams. I too found it hard to be excited for , but in end I’ll be happy for those guys who made their dream happen.
  10. Trying not to get to excited, but Biden has dropped to second in Iowa polling! My (technical) party’s candidate has taken the lead! Warren looks to be up by 2%! (Margin of error is +-4%)
  11. Maybe Discovery sub-licensed TV rights like they do with some other major events?
  12. Well they’ve already allocated most of the quotas and hasn’t received one and they’re not on the reallocation list. I’d just say it was a mistake.
  13. I did notice this when looking through the lists a while back. There were quite a few countries with odd interests from what I remember. could have also been looking for a slopestyle quota and got lost in translation.
  14. People who still use TV’s to watch TV are old . I only use a TV to watch ABC and HBO shows now. All sports I watch through streaming services.
  15. I haven’t used/owned a PC/Laptop/or Computer In 5 years . The new IPad OS will essentially turn my IPad into a PC from what I understand. Hopefully it works. My biggest issue is that I have to use god awful Safari as my browser. I tried Chrome for IPad but it’s super watered down from the PC version. Plus y’all have been at this for like 75 years longer than me. I got into multi-sports games and international sports a little bit before Rio 2016.
  16. If you have a good laptop or tablet the Olympic Channel will show it in the US I believe. To watch it live you’d need an American TV provider, but generally you can watch the full session replays without one. I’d recommend Marca Claro or TYC Sports if you want to have a chance to watch them live.
  17. You don’t know how many times I’ve tried to get to this page. You must be some sort of wizard to able to use any of the OCA technology
  18. For me because A) It gives me something to do on the weekends B) helps with my research for reporting C) I like to save them so I (and once I share the links) and other people to look back at past games D) they go along nicely with those “Gales Review” PDFs I like to publish E) For some odd reason I enjoy it
