  1. I can feel the thunder that's breaking in your heart, but I will post your votes.
  2. - said @heywoodu, looking at his framed and mounted collection of foreskins from around the globe
  3. At least they got a silver medal on the women's side

  5. I am commencing the random draw for pairs right now. I had some time this morning, so I'm just going to get it done now. I have to wheels with juries listed on them. I will spin both, to select pairings. Juries voting 1-18 in the order will be paired with a jury from voting blocks 19-36. I will communicate the results once complete.
  6. Official Announcement All of the votes have been counted. I will send each jury their themed post for the Grand Final over the next two/three days. I have also added provisional timings for the opening ceremony and Grand Final to the first post on this thread. The draw for pairs (for the team event) will likely take place on Thursday. I will communicate more once plans are finalized.
  7. Safe to say the v. match is getting out of hand… There were apparently 22 fouls and only a single shot on goal in the first half.
  8. The NPCs did a good job of spreading the wealth there
  9. Official Announcement A provisional voting schedule has been added to the first post. Please review the times and let me know if any corrections need to be made. Also, I am willing to move start of the contest one hour forward if users believe that will be beneficial to their participation in the thread.
  10. Olympic Truce Resolution agreed to by the UN for Paris 2024. A lot of nations not even bothering to vote on it. Russia and Syria were the only nations to formally abstain from voting. Of course, we’ve all learned a member state can violate said truce and remain a member of the IOC (without even a suspension nonetheless!), so a nice meaningless gesture by all involved.
  11. It sucks that these are taking place while I’m busy organizing TISC and preparing for the holidays. The broadcast standard seems pretty good, so hopefully I’m able to catch a few replays.
  12. Came here to post it as well. A fascinating read indeed.
  13. Miss Curaçao used this weekend’s Miss Universe Pageant to make a political statement about her territory’s lack of representation at the Olympics. definitely trying to keep pressure on the IOC when it comes to Olympics representation.
  14. Jenly Wini Tegu delivers the first gold medal to the host nation! She actually takes three golds altogether. I'm so happy to see her rewarded for a such a long and wonderful career.
  15. International broadcast should show swimming (heats), weightlifting (finals), Rugby League 9s (Pool Round), and Swimming (Finals) today for those interested.
  16. No torch this time, but a paddle instead. A nice little firework show to kick things off. I’ve finished my replay just in time to catch the start of today’s broadcast
  17. The Pacific Games remain the only continental multi-sport games to include religion in the opening ceremony. I’m not really sure how to feel about it.
  18. The cultural performances by visiting delegations during the opening ceremony remains one of my favorite Pacific Games traditions.
  19. Watching a replay of the opening ceremony from last night before today’s action. I love the placard cards used to introduce the teams. They look handwoven.
  20. Honestly, cross country courses should have stuff like that. The manicured golf course races are basically just glorified road races. There should be hills, mud, water, jumps, rocky bits, etc.
  21. His inline skating genes must have kicked-in I that discipline you actually get rewarded for controlling the race.
