  1. For what it's worth, my list for the women's race It's all compared from Bruna's point of view of course, hence I gave her 5.5 to make it easier to compare (those with 1 are hardest to beat, those with 10 the 'easiest', those with 4-5 are (sort of) 50/50. With the disclaimer being that in many cases it's nearly impossible to really compare the athletes.
  2. As far as I know, it's not published anywhere The wonders of annoying federations. I made the ranking myself, hopefully it's somewhat correct. Only the women though, I don't have the amount of interest in the men's field to spend that much time on it
  3. To be fair, not if it's because of a test gone wrong, I don't really wish that on anyone
  4. Sadly I don't think @Jesús reads here anymore (I tried to mention it when I saw him, but to no avail it seems ), but I'm definitely cheering for him too!
  5. Race day! Let's hope we won't have a single DNS in the start list today.
  6. Test result came back negative, we're on! Time for the most physically painful 15 minutes or so of her life.
  7. I would imagine Hungary has more than one skier who would make her chances next to non-existent Sara Ponya for starters, who I have going for a top-5 tomorrow.
  8. Wait, what? I feel like you forgot to quote something, I don't really see any post that could remotely fit this answer
  9. The live timing pages suggests a bit of a weird placing for the split times: two in the first half of the 5km lap, but none on the top of the huge uphill..
  10. World Cups, World Championships and U23 and Junior World Championships. Yeah now that you mention it, Croatia isn't even in the women's ranking at all...(yet, of course)
  11. They are eligible to fulfill a quota, but a quota for an NOC first needs to be earned, with the basic one being earned by having an athlete get under 300 FIS points at these world championships. A country can have 50 eligible athletes, if they don't have a single quota that won't help much.
  12. That is correct. The sprint qualifying is the one race where, as an athlete from a 'lower' level, you are sure you'll compete directly against the very best in the world
  13. Tomorrow morning it could be a bit less bad though. Too bad, right when our Brazilian today figured out how to really get through the watery downhills
  14. Two things: to qualify for the main race, athletes have to be in the top-10 and get a total of under 180.00 FIS points, the latter being a combination of the strength of the (top of the) field and the time difference with the one(s) in front. Which is a problem for the women, since the by far strongest athlete in the race has bad FIS points, because she barely competes in FIS races and is a World Cup level biathlete.
  15. I have Jagecic going for 3rd-5th, for what it's worth
  16. Ah yeah, ORF! Any idea where one can watch that online? I have the Eurosport Player (and they will show it there) so for me it doesn't matter, but I know some people who'd want to watch
  17. Always a good exercise to see how weird and unfair FIS points really are (IBU points are so much better), one only needs to look at the Brazilian men: Manex is by far the best, followed by probably Steve and then Matheus and then Victor, but he doesn't often compete in Europe (unlike the others) and so mostly gets great points from the Brazilian races, leading to him being one of the last ones to start
  18. From a certain Totallympian who is participating there and talked to her today, yes
  19. Dear lord, the wait for the final test result is unbearable
  20. The men, yes. The women on the other hand..... Was this really necessary, Baiba?
  21. Curious about the women from Colombia and Portugal, neither of them have any FIS results yet I've heard the Mexican lady being described as 'very nice', so I'm cheering for her too now
  22. Don't bitch against our Dutch luge heroes
  23. Sending them to a labor camp in North Korea seems a bit harsh though (hopefully at least you don't mean the skiers ) Interesting, although not the first time small nations' federations do and think weird stuff. Anyhow, four women it is then
  24. Damn. What happened to the other two, they tested positive/didn't test at all or something like that, or was the problem the way they entered Germany? Damn, these times
  25. Races have been moved up to the morning! The only sensible decision
