  1. Bennett has definitely recovered by the looks of it, impressive stuff by him these weeks.
  2. Hence 'verified oldest people' and not 'obscure claims'
  3. Kane Tanaka is now tied for 3rd oldest verified person ever, if she holds on until tomorrow, she'll have 3rd place for herself She was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 103, but kicked it's ass and hasn't been sick since
  4. Lukas Pöstlberger went down to the race doctor, apparently due to an insect bite/sting. A little bit later, he dropped down to the team car...and a little later he went down to the second team car, then dropped down on the side of the road, trying to catch some air. Turns out a wasp stung him in his mouth, leading to a rather strong reaction and of course an abandon. By now, BORA has released a little statement saying that Pöstlberger is luckily feeling a bit better after medical treatment, so he'll be alright. Wasps, fucking assholes.
  5. This weekend is the 24 Hours of Le Mans The by now traditional spotters guide can be found right here: https://spotterguides.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/20_LM24_V2.pdf The start is at 14.30 tomorrow.
  6. I've been 'following it with one eye' elsewhere, but yeah, it's rather bizarre. Luckily so far a whole lot of them seem to mostly stay away from land (not all of course), so in terms of major damage it's not nearly as bad (yet?) as some other seasons in the previous years have been..
  7. Meanwhile Jumbo-Visma's manager/team leader Merijn Zeeman has been kicked out of the Tour, after insulting a UCI employee who more or less destroyed an integral part of Roglic' bike during a control due to having no clue what he was doing.
  8. Plus she was on her way to a very convincing win in the Giro. Painful fall, caused by a small move by Lianne Lippert (nothing to be blamed for really), Marianne Vos and Mavi Garcia went down as well but seemed to be relatively fine.
  9. Oh and 15 neutralized kilometers at the beginning....to go down the climb on which they finished yesterday. That's just kind of dumb, just start in Méribel itself instead of letting them do 15 senseless downhill kilometers first
  10. I'm not sure I've ever seen a 'queen's stage' of the Tour de France which had a grand total of only two climbs, but damn, was it hard yesterday. Today is definitely a good second, but with only one HC climb and the other big one being so early on, I'd say it slightly loses out against yesterday. Still, I would not like to be a sprinter today, it ain't gonna be fun
  11. About Luxembourg: yesterday riders were already angry at the rather poor organization, with tons of cars being parked right in the heat of the sprint preparation battle, incredibly dangerous. Konovalovas was dropped after his work was done...and finished 12 minutes later eventually, because he had to stop for a red light - apparently the road had already been reopened. Today it was again incredibly unsafe and very early on, riders decided to neutralize it and basically go on strike. The 160km stage ended up being 40km, since the deal was they'd at least race the last 40km, leading to a sprint win by Demare.
  12. Did you see him just casually be the only one to follow Diego Ulissi's attack in the pretty long uphill finish in Luxembourg yesterday?
  13. Huh, motorsports was the first sport I had in mind, in fact, but that's due to New Zealand's former A1GP driver Matt Halliday
  14. Kevin Lédanois, Dion Smith, Jasper Stuyven (three days, no less), Jens Voigt, Blel Kadri somehow had a day in the jersey well into the Tour in two consecutive years, four days for Jussi Veikkanen (who apparently was quite a decent climber actually, early on, with top-50 finishes in the Giro). I think 2008 is a nice one to end it with: three days of David de la Fuente, followed by two days for Riccardo Ricco* and later seven days for eventual winner Bernard Kohl, who finished 3rd out of the blue and was disqualified due to the rather obvious doping. * The doping king got the jersey after that epic Saunier-Duval stage where his teammates Piepoli (later DQ'ed) and Cobo finished 1-2. Daniel Teklehaimanot had it for four days, but to be fair, it'd not be entirely right to call him a non-climber. It's just noteworthy because he's from Eritrea and that was cool.
  15. How would I have ever heard of her?
  16. Cosnefroy with arguably one of his best results ever, finishing top-30 in a stage like this is more than excellent for a non-climber.
  17. I must say, I didn't wake up today expecting a group of Teletubbies to be the smartest people around
  18. Nah, troll of the day are all those idiotic morons on the mountain
  19. Landa with the fail of the Tour so far What an anticlimactic stage so far..
  20. That we'd get an all-German year in the worst case scenario. Now 4 out of 9 EBERSPÄCHER World Cups are not in Germany, so you're not even close Although I'd rather have that last one either in Germany (or Austria or Latvia) or not at all. This dumb shit of having the whole season, then the world championships....and only three weeks later there's a more than likely entirely dead EBERSPÄCHER World Cup Final on some track in China.
  21. Mind your words, young man, it's the EBERSPÄCHER World Cup-season!
  22. Start lists: http://zagreb-meeting.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/SL_ZAGREB_20_0913_14.38_a.pdf Really curious what Michael Obasuyi will do, considering the great showings of Remco Evenepoel and Wout van Aert so far!
