  1. Last news about the team size is from two weeks ago, when articles were talking about (including reserves) 292 athletes.
  2. Jack Haig is also out, probably not very surprising. Still a shame though, he could have had a decent chance considering this year's Bahrain performances.
  3. Young Lukas Kubis will replace him, at least cool for a rider from a small team to get a chance like this And always sad to see any athlete having to miss the Olympics due to injury, especially someone of Sagan's stature. Even though he wouldn't really be one of the favourites on what is basically a hard mountain stage, he'd probably at least try some fun in the early breakaways or something, seeing how attacking he often is.
  4. The sport's quota have been cut because of a single doping test? Try that at the Olympics and you'll end up with a grand total of four events in two sports or something..
  5. I'd change the shooting format to take away laser shooting and replace it with actual shooting, to make actual shooting skills more important (since stuff like taking wind into account is important as well, but basically eliminated with laser shooting). Not that I'd care a whole lot, since I usually end up watching five minutes of pentathlon every few years
  6. A little late, but welcome @maestro And also a welcome to @El Greco 21! Other than that, I'd like to welcome absolutely @Nobody, good day! And @Frenchy16, bienvenue to you!
  7. There's also plenty of good and fun stuff on social media of course
  8. But what does a 2014 or 2015 result matter when predicting 2021? It doesn't... I think if there's one user here who is absolutely not a 'hater' and definitely able to look at all athletes from a neutral point of view (instead of giving higher chances to one's own favourites), it's our Brazilian friend.
  9. Always the same, Denmark, Switzerland and such.
  10. Yeah this being against huge companies makes sense, but the IOC wouldn't be the IOC if they didn't make a huge deal about the local car repair shop posting something I wonder what punishment the athlete could get. I mean, surely they can't take away the results, so if an athlete is retiring anyway after the Olympics, what's to stop them?
  11. Still wondering, what happens if - say - the local bakery from an athletes' town who sponsors him/her posts "Congratulations on a great result in Japan!" and "Proud of Athlete, you've represented your country very well!"? Does the IOC have some sort of power to force said local bakery to do anything?
  12. Wow, didn't think we'd see meldonium of all things make a comeback
  13. Really makes me wonder if this is (partially, of course) a Brazilian thing...it's not at all the only federation where 'unclear and questionable criteria' play a significant role
  14. Is yesterday's 'streaker' a kabaddi player or something? What a moves https://streamable.com/5a128k
  15. I'm already slightly annoyed that it's predicted to be at least 24-25 degrees every day for the next two weeks here, burning
  16. Is that, however, based on 'Biles is really good' (without really taking the others in account), or based on 'Biles is consistently better than the others who will compete'? Curious what @thiago_simoes has to say about it, definitely our number one gymnastics expert
  17. He's 5-0 in the Davis Cup so far, so that's something
  18. Huh, who would've thought Sancho, Rashford and Saka are apparently monkeys (if one were to listen to the messages they've been sent on social media, of course). Them receiving purely racial abuse after last night is sadly probably the most expected of all things surrounding Euro 2020...luckily that's undoubtedly just coming from the loudest people, and a large majority of English fans are probably just disappointed, without that kind of bullshit. Meanwhile: Hehe.
  19. Wow, those booing people deserved this so badly
  20. What is it with those stupid penalties where someone stops while running?
