  1. They almost lucked through, but the two Norwegians who did finish were too fast
  2. This will be hard to catch up for China!
  3. Congratulations to @hckošice One of my favourite medals of Beijing 2022
  4. We had Japan as main favourite in the women's team pursuit, Canada as clear silver favourite and the Netherlands as clear bronze favourite. That event seemed pretty straightforward from the get-go, were it not for Takagi's fall
  5. Especially biathlon, where basically anyone who has a chance in a certain event has a chance in every single event. Unlike cross-country skiing (a little, but much less) and definitely way unlike speed skating. That's not to say I want fewer events, by the way
  6. Because those that are good in speed skating want to, well, stay good in speed skating And ice hockey is so tiny here, nobody really cares...you know, with some small exceptions of course.
  7. They've got quite a few Olympic golds in the normal one!
  8. With the difference being that the sprints make literally no possible difference in the medal positions.
  9. "Normally they can't lose this." Dutch commentator about Schouten/Groenewoud. That can't go wrong!
  10. First Belgian Winter Olympic gold in 74 years
  11. Awesome!! Basically the winner I had hoped for
  12. But falls are not at all the main problem
  13. And make it a distance event.
  14. Oh, he's through to the final after all. I forgot in this event you have to wait for a while after the finish until you can really know what the result of the race is. Anyhow, the plan ("putting someone like Kramer in this event can scare the competition") doesn't seem to be that fantastic. Surprising
  15. Right, the main speed skating is over, time for the circus We start with the men's Not-A-Marathon. Which could be Sven Kramer's last race. I hope not, it'd be cool to see him and Bergsma in the final and see how they solve the thing of having to kind of pretend to work together
  16. Just to help confirming this: in the two important 1000m's they had before the Olympics, their last laps were roughly 0.1 second apart from each other. Verbij's last lap was a tiny bit faster once, Krol's last lap a tiny bit faster the other time. So yeah, without this situation it would most likely have been very tight indeed.
  17. Yes, but why not show the speeds and the angles and such on other parts of the track? I mean, we know how the Kreisel goes now after two weeks, and this graphic is cool....but show the whole track every now and then.
  18. What's with those track/angle graphics in all three sliding sports being shown basically all the time, but basically only around this specific point of the track? They've shown that literally dozens and dozens of times (if not a couple of hundred, considering the amount of runs in luge, skeleton and bobsleigh combined), but all the time it's just the part around the Kreisel
  19. It does when it's already that cold. Keep them going for 2 hours and it's just asking for people to drop down out of the blue.
  20. It's easy to be angry about it, but if it's -15 with the winds we've seen in the area today, this is really not a bad decision. An unfortunate one and I'm sad it had to be taken, but sadly a necessary one.
  21. If it'd go to a 15k mass start, she's one of the main favourites Even with a 30k mass start she has more than an outside shot already.
