  1. Are the songs of Kazahkstan, Tunisia and Ukraine available anywhere on Spotify? The rest is, so that'd be absolutely perfect in terms of playlist creation.
  2. Yes, and they have Putin to thank for that.
  3. I wouldn't count a nuclear test in a remote area as a rational approach, so it depends on what your definition of 'rational approach' is
  4. Any blow to Russia is a good blow. I still find it extremely unlikely Putin will go towards the nuclear path, except for possibly a small-scale test in some remote area to show that he has nuclear weapons (which we all already know).
  5. No worries, we don't share the exact same tastes and we won't be trying to convince one another of voting for certain songs I've even specifically asked not to be shown or told any information whatsoever about the Brazilian song before it was posted, because I really don't want to feel in any way like there's fishy business going on. The only thing I did was tell her 'Why don't you join TISC this year?' and suggest that probably @vinipereira could help her out with how to do the whole song choosing thing within a multi-jury. As far as TISC is concerned, I'm entirely in my own little -bubble
  6. That little (but beautiful) pool of water goes down 50 meters? Wow.
  7. That's basically the length of the drive we'll have from the São Paulo airport to our first destination, so we can both perfectly use that for a full listen
  8. Belated birthday present for Putin
  9. Sargeant would be much better. We've seen Mick Schumacher by now: not bad at all, but certainly nothing special. Time for someone else.
  10. Just like Christijan Albers and Robert Doornbos for a bit, but somehow I feel like the Verstappen-De Vries period will result in a tad more Dutch points than the Albers-Doornbos period
  11. Every World Cup has a minute-by-minute schedule, but for the world championships there is only this overall program available with which events are there per session, but no specification about the exact times within the session? https://www.sqy2022.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/CDMPiste22_Programme_PISTE_Detaille_EN.pdf Or am I missing something here?
  12. I'm not really that much into the gravel scene, but I did hear UCI really wants to make these championships there own thing, and a ton of the big names from the big American circuit aren't there. Plus it's at the same time as one of the biggest races there, apparently. So, whoever wins it, don't take it too seriously
  13. Former Swiss biathlete Simon Hallenbarter has passed away at the age of 43. 'Voluntarily stepped out of life', as Swiss media describes it. Triple Olympian, eight times in the world championships and a decent top-30 athlete in the middle of his career, roughly around 2010. https://sport.ch/biathlon/1022552/der-ehemalige-biathlet-simon-hallenbarter-ist-mit-43-jahren-freiwillig-aus-dem-leben-geschieden
  14. Is this the new shape of the volleyball and football fields for the Olympics? That'd be fun
  15. Given usual activity levels, I'd say at least Brazil, India, Israel and Mexico should definitely not be a problem
  16. Mass grave full of decapitated skeletons discovered in Slovakia. You better explain yourself @hckošice Ok, it's 7000 years old, but still. https://www.archaeology.org/news/10848-220922-slovakia-mass-grave
  17. Henk Krol is a Dutch politician for 50PLUS, a party focused on elderly people. In the past years, on more than one occassion he has accidentally congratulated someone on their birthday, only to later realize the person had already passed away (like a famous Dutch author who had committed suicide). Yesterday: "Tomorrow, 7 October, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin turns 70 years old. The past few years I barely dare say happy birthday to anyone anymore, but I gladly make an exception for Putin."
  18. British Superbike rider Chrissy Rouse passed away aged 26 https://www.britishsuperbike.com/news/2022/oct/6/msvr-statement-chrissy-rouse He crashed last Sunday at Donington and got hit on the head by a rider behind him, who couldn't avoid him anymore. When I was watching I was already feeling rather uncomfortable with the fact that after the red flag, absolutely nothing was shown (which is not a good sign). Only info was the commentators saying it was probably Rouse, since the rest was still coming through on the split times towards pit lane.
  19. Well yeah, the guy is a full-blown modern-day nazi and doesn't hide it. Of course it was done by the country currently fighting a bunch of modern-day nazi's who are invading their country.
  20. Exactly. I don't think a nuclear test (within Russia, like Siberia) will have many consequences - I mean, come on, we know Russia has nuclear weapons, it's nothing new But yeah, an actual nuclear attack on Ukraine and half of Russia's army is done within days.
  21. Filippo Ganna will attack Dan Bigham's world hour record (55.5 km or so) Saturday evening in Switzerland. He did a test yesterday, and got to a little over 56 km/h for 35 minutes, so that's promising. He's also got his eyes set on Chris Boardman's 56.38 km with a nowadays not legal bike design.
  22. The 'potentially good idea' I meant was the team event being axed I'm not so much against a team event by definition, but I definitely am against one where only a certain specialization is being used. If having a team event is such an important thing, I'd make it a variation on this proposed doubles event: Four skiers per team/country, a man and woman do the slalom, a man and woman do the downhill, so both technical and speed specialists have a realistic chance of showing what they've got in a team event. I know it won't happen, because I'm sure it needs to be some head-to-head thing since that's super urban, but yeah.
  23. Why do all potentially good ideas always have to come together with some shitty thing?
