  1. Bastianini, by far the best addition to the MotoGP of the past few years
  2. With Quartararo being incredibly lucky he got away the way he did, that could have gone entirely wrong... Good thing for the rest that Marquez' bike was done.
  3. Yep, he would at least have been closer. Still hard to say if he'd have made the podium, half a minute seems like more than what he lost. But yeah, that wasn't nice.
  4. The registration window isn't open, but I'm going to register anyway Not sure about being present at the day of the final, what with being on 'vacation' in Brazil and such, but we'll see
  5. And that's it, Tobias Foss is world champion And with Küng, Evenepoel and Ganna he straight-up beat the big three (with Van Aert not being there to complete the big four), so yeah, that is a truly, truly deserved world title
  6. Oh damn, Foss' incredible final part even beats Küng
  7. Küng has turned on the turbo towards the second (and last) intermediate time Evenepoel losing 15 seconds, Ganna blown away and 40s behind. Küng seems to be on the way to gold, Foss to silver and Evenepoel to bronze.
  8. Fantastic race by Foss
  9. And another one down, literally in this case: Magnus Sheffield fell. Although Tobias Foss was so much faster one can argue he was already out of that big fight.
  10. And that's 5 guys left in the fight, Hayter's chain came off
  11. Everyone has now passed split 1 at the men's time trial, top-6 is within 4 seconds there
  12. Snow White played by a black actress would, like Black Lightning being played by a white actor, simply be weird because the color is literally in the name. But I really can't see any issue with a black or brown mermaid. I mean, come on...what's the argument going to be, 'real mermaids are white!'?
  13. Because 99% of series and movies had basically only white people (or black evil people), and that's changing to be more realistic. Simple as that, nothing wrong with that. Like people complaining about House of the Dragon beforehand, because of black characters. Jesus Christ. I get that people don't like it because they're not into Game of Thrones or fantasy in general and such, but really? Complaining about it (beforehand!) because some characters are black instead of classic Aryans?
  14. That depends on what you think is 'wokeism'. At least here plenty of obviously 'right-wing' people say everything that's not part of their conservative narrative is 'woke'. Hell, even TV series where a character is black is called 'woke' and meets with criticism 'because there's black characters'. Ugh. Usually when people are argueing against 'wokeism', you can often guess a lot of their points of view.
  15. You really don't need to pity anyone, the exaggerated view you quoted is just a tiny minority. Most people have a more nuanced view.
  16. Apparently the peloton and team managers were watching the TV producers' pictures in Slovakia today, and so - just like the TV cameras and especially the helicopter - they completely missed the duo of the tiny VolkerWessels team being ahead of them for 15km and scoring a highly improbable 1-2
  17. Just like plenty of other things British citizens use, I assume (like roads and such)
  18. Is this one of them cute classic 'sit around in a circle' birthdays?
  19. Ah, the 'Russia invaded Ukraine but in reality it's the fault of everyone except for Russia' classic
  20. By the way, I don't know how it is for all other countries (like Ferrari fans in Monza or Rossi fans in Misano and such have always been known to not be exactly...fantastic, to say the least), but here in the Netherlands the fanbase in terms of going to the tracks has largely been taken over by 'football fans' types of groups. You know, the type that goes to the football stadium not really to enjoy a match, but to drink 10 beers, because they base the amount of fun they had on the amount of alcoholic drinks they drank. There are still race fans going, but that group is more and more staying away because they're basically being pushed out by the hooligans who only go for the 'party' and the drinking. No thanks..
  21. Monza worked hard to try and beat that, not without success. Which is rather impressive Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Great Britain and Austria are definitely races I'm going to stay away from for the foreseeable future (although GB might come back once Hamilton is gone and the crowd there cools down with it). Better just go to non-European races. You know, like if China comes back or something. Can't have an annoying crowd without a crowd
  22. Everything that's electronic can be hacked, so I'm honestly glad we don't use any machines here
  23. I thought Virolainen retired years ago
  24. That's a shame. I don't much care for most Russian or Belarussian biathletes (as in, I'm neutral towards them), but I do like Alimbekava.
  25. A maximum of 20% between 06:00 and 18:00, which means 2:24 hours, free to distribute as the channels wish. Also 20% from 18:00 to 00:00, which is 1:12 hours and also free to distribute. Nothing about 00:00 to 06:00, I think they're ads on TV then (especially the always lovely sex phone lines, they never get old).
