Belgium does actually have their own biathlon range with 15-16 targets nowadays, since either last year or this year, so they really are working on something good at least, combined with getting half-Belgians to compete for them With Lie, Cloetens, Claude and Langer Belgium potentially has quite a decent team for a mixed relay.

But with just as much French as Belgian blood, like Lotte Lie with Belgium-Norway.

And not with shooting luck or something, but the very fastest skiing time of all, with only one other girl within 20 seconds of her and only four other girls within a minute

Just a little sidenote: for Brazil I'm 99,99% sure it's just for the free IBU money one (read: the federation) gets for starting a race and they don't at all care about the results (at least the shooting part, I suppose they simply use it - other than for the free money - to get some more racing rhythm for the cross-country races) Could well be the same for other small nations of course, but that I don't know.

And this military service, what does it consist of? No way somebody is able to be a full-time military person and also a full-time pro athlete, so they have to do a couple of trainings per year or so, or mostly marketing work?

Is that an actual obligation if you want to be a Slovak biathlete?
