  1. Aw, no Somalia this time Do we, Netherlands, have a chance? I mean, for anything? A goal maybe?
  2. That would be fair indeed, and makes it sounds quite interesting. Not a fan of events with entirely separate competitions, where one has to predict them all beforehand anyway
  3. It works for him though, I guess he went hard on the dopamine from his 124 thousand likes, 53 thousand retweets and 35 million views of his tweet
  4. I am really not sure they put the right photo on his profile
  5. Well shit, another major earthquake hit basically the same area 15 minutes ago Yes, another. Not just an aftershock, which is usually weaker, but one of basically the same strength....7.8 was the first one, 7.7 is the one of a few minutes ago. That is very, very bad.
  6. No no no no no don't go posting super moron Frank Hoogerbeets He comes up with hundreds of predictions for terrible earthquakes, based on planets X and Y being in some angle with the sun or some pseudoscience bullshit like that, and now that he finally 'hit' one, he is just basking in the dopamine rush that the likes and retweets are giving him today... Several times a year he comes with some nonsense prediction for a civilization-ending super earthquake and nonsense like that. As the old saying goes: even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
  7. Yeah, same thing here, it's apparently booming among the people who aren't able to play tennis And definitely seen as even more of an elitist sport than tennis. No idea if padel is an option in my town though, I know we have some tennis courts but no idea about padel
  8. Obviously not worse than the many, many deaths, but the over 2000 year old Gaziantep Castle, originally built by the Hittites, has been as good as entirely destroyed.
  9. Yeah, the fact that it's even necessary is of course disgusting, but it's still better than nothing being done I suppose..
  10. And already up to roughly 400 confirmed deaths....this is very much on the way to get into the thousands (yes, plural)... Entire city blocks have been completely demolished, in a time of day where one can assume most people were at home, and in multiple cities with 500k - 2 million inhabitants..
  11. I do agree with the one event per day thing, to be honest. Not for a World Cup, but for a major championship I want to be able to focus on one medal event per day (especially considering biathlon almost starts as well) But yeah, scheduling issues.
  12. Yeah, they really could have planned it better. The first two events should have been done by now. Oh well, nowadays I think at least 80% of what I watch is on-demand instead of live, so I'll be fine
  13. Right. Well, that puts some added pressure on him, now he really can't afford to lose to Van Aert and/or Van der Poel there Can't wait for the spring classics though
  14. Absolutely. Is he injured or something like that? If not, it would kind of feel like he's afraid to face both of them at the same time
  15. Judging by the fact that in the previous 100 races in which they both competed, one of them was the winner 96 times, I'm gonna go ahead and say it's not surprising that one of them will win I believe I saw Toon Aerts managed to beat them both twice, but that's about it. If they both compete, nobody has a realistic chance if they don't run into flat tyres (plural).
  16. This finger, yikes. https://icecreamapps.com/v/errar4f
  17. Right, time for an epic fight between the two greats (and their minions in the teams)
  18. Right, apparently Germany gave a wrong name. Coletta Rydzek was listed on the start list, but Sofie Krehl ended up competing in the 4th leg, instead of Rydzek. So an administrative mistake (because obviously this is not cheating), probably due to a late change, ends up costing them a very well-deserved podium. USA being the lucky ones of the day.
  19. Germany finished 2nd, and was the only team which actually managed to follow Norway all the way (they were right behind), but they got disqualified for 'Competing under false pretences', what the hell? The rules (352.2.2 in this case), aren't making it any clearer neither.
  20. Well, that very much sounds like an NCAA problem and not a World Athletics problem, so yeah. Tough luck for them
  21. Whoah, had entirely missed this the past days Thanks for the mention, Netherlands is of course in!
  22. Right, dominating gold for Leo Bisiaux of France in the men's junior race this morning. Now it's the women's U23 race, with a Dutch lady - surprise surprise - as the large favourite and British Zoe Backstedt as basically the only one who might be expected to at least stay a little bit somewhere in the vicinity of Shirin van Anrooij.
  23. So basically, NCAA should try and be less difficult and rigid? Sounds like the whole thing would be solved if USATF would be involved in or simply sanction the events.
