  1. Finally on her way to really being the new Jessicarennis Hill?
  2. Reports coming in from Berlin about broken eardrums right after Vucenovic's throw.
  3. Cachova over 1.86 That makes her the number one favourite for 5th place all of a sudden, with even a very real shot at 4th.
  4. Vermeulen fighting for bronze, I had no idea she was already this good in open water Very nice fight for gold between Van Rouwendaal and Gabrielleschi, kilometer after kilometer.
  5. They did that yesterday I guess? Because yesterday evening when I wrote my 'report' on this event, I already wrote his 2nd best attempt was 8.00
  6. Wow, Vetter is having the most impressive high jump competition I've ever seen from her..
  7. Pretty cool photos
  8. That was not so smart from Mujezinovic.
  9. By being exhausted beyond a level of exhaustion us mortals can even imagine?
  10. If she forgot her lap and stopped one lap too early, why should she be DQ'ed when in fact she didn't finish, which is not breaking a rule?
  11. It did look like several athletes had jumps that were longer than the result, Nilsson Montler being one of them. Possibly the lines and stuff are not very well lined up. Anyway, again: too bad it's still 1935 and measuring technology isn't automatic yet.
  12. Even with doping I don't believe it's realistic
  13. Forecast for the heptathlon that starts today: http://www.ten7events.com/2018-ec-7/standings-sorted-by-forecasts/
  14. Empty beach = best beach
  15. I'd love a bet with Christoph about whether or not he'll break 80 meters. I'm hoping for his sake he's got a bit more realism in his bones than thinking it's actually legtimitely possible to go 6 meters further than they did in the heydays of doping yourself up with everything in store.
  16. All Austra Skujyte makes me think of nowadays is a bookmaker once offering odds per individual decathlon/heptathlon event, and giving odds of between 3 and 4 for Skujyte to win the shot put (as in, €1 turns into €3 or €4 if you win the bet, which of course was the case because Skujyte)
  17. That depends on the championships. He already scored 8336 points with a poorer run than today. Without improving his 1500m 8400 points is very much realistic for starters (even 8500 maybe, seeing that he's still only 22 and can improve in every event one might say) and that can, as we're seeing right now, be enough for medals.
  18. By the way, respect for the two French dudes bombing out in the 2nd event of the decathlon, but following that up by completing all 8 remaining events in style, including the killing 1500m.
  19. Especially because then you get people thinking "oh you're in 2nd place, you're in clear medal position!", not knowing there's such a thing as, well, being good or less good in certain events.
  20. Not really. He ran a PB in the 1500 and didn't lose that much in javelin. Long jump is where he blew it mostly.
  21. I don't know which events you did and did not watch, but for me the last time is about a year ago at the world championships.
  22. What a miserable last-lap bell.
  23. Really hard to say how far that Swedish jump was, he might have let a hand hanging there or something..
