  1. This ended up not being too complicated after all. They're not too competitive in terms of having very 'wide' fields, so it was still fairly easy to follow
  2. Thank god, that 'official period of mourning' avatar was getting worrying
  3. 1.57,85 for Fontana in the 1500, which as far as we could find is by far the fastest ever debut (of course it's not like she is new to skating, but still). Dan Li once debuted with 2.00,11 and Valerie Maltais once did that in the 3k with 4.15,91 so Fontana broke that 'record' as well yesterday
  4. Pablo Castrillo does it again and this time it's an absolutely heroic win on the inhuman Cuitu Negru Wow, what an incredible battle that was!
  5. The impossible has happened...Ferrari takes the win, in Monza....on strategy Miracles are not out of this world
  6. It was a great drive, but to be entirely fair about the 'from last place to the win' thing: that was also definitely part luck The ones in the top had made their stop, then a safety car appeared and Bortoleto and several others could get a 'free' stop (including Verschoor, who got a 3rd place that way) But in general: yeah, Bortoleto definitely should be on the radar for some team...
  7. And last but not least, American gold for the women.
  8. It might have some advantages, I get that, but it doesn't take away the fact that you simply can't make a remotely fair league standing when teams don't all play each other. There's no way you can compare team A and B on number of points gained when they didn't play the same teams (and/or each other)...
  9. Lill was well on her way to silver, had a small but 'annoying' fall and just seemed to be kind of broken from then on, with first Terpstra catching her and at the end Berta doing the same
  10. Yeah, Friday I was just trying to stay on my feet, quite a fever, feeling super cold and bloody hot at the same time, dizzy and so on, watched Aline's heat before stepping back into bed and didn't really care about watching anything else that day Luckily it's a lot better now, so I can enjoy the day more or less as normal.
  11. After the 'Will Griggs on fire' thing at Euro 2016, that had totally disappeared, but yeah, this summer...it. is. everywhere. Go away
  12. Definitely not, watched that as well Friday Mostly looking forward to the marathon next week though, that's definitely her main thing.
  13. Women's T54 800m, time to watch the first and so far only Paralympian who has ever been in my house (Aline Rocha ) Her husband fought tooth and nail to get the IPC to release the geoblock for the YT streams in Brazil, because the rights holder wasn't doing anything with the rights, and it worked, apparently the streams are available in Brazil now
  14. Polish men's gold:
  15. Same for the Netherlands, alarm is set for the moment the entries open
  16. Based on what is she an SL4 player (in your opinion)?
  17. I love it when federations decide for us which matches are and aren't interesting /sarcasm One step closer to that Super League thingy where we'd get a billion Real Madrid - Manchester United, Manchester City - Bayern Munich and so on during the season. A season full of only big and special matches, meaning none of them are big and special anymore
  18. Alright, that's good at least, it'd be super weird to have Champions League, Europa League and Conference League all on the same day (and awful for the latter two). The overall format remains godawful though, but let's see how it goes. It's not like we'll go back to regular group stages anymore now that this genie is out of the bottle.
  19. Phenomenal season end in the Formula 3 championship, where Leonardo Fornaroli took the title with the most important overtake of his life in the very last turn of the very last lap of the season at Monza Meguetounif won the race, ahead of Gabriele Mini and Fornaroli. Fornaroli entered the last turn in 4th, but overtook Christian Mansell, and that way got enough points to stay a tiny bit ahead of Mini.
  20. There's no avoiding that, this system is inherently unfair and presumably designed to be so. You can't seriously make a decent league ranking in which teams don't all play against the same teams, that's just....not possible, at all. It's even worse than the 'best numbers 3' you see in some sports and tournaments. I genuinely wonder how they think this is going to be positive. Well, ok, in some way it will probably bring in more money, otherwise they would of course not have come up with it. Edit: to make matters worse, I see Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the match days now? Ok, there is the answer for the move to this weird format, but that sucks, goodbye any kind of attention for Europa League and Conference League
  21. Bronze for Iran at the beach volleyball U19 worlds @MHSN
  22. If Norway makes it, the bookmakers would be slightly surprised at least, given that Denmark are slight favourites to win the match https://www.bmbets.com/ice-hockey/world/olympics-qualification/denmark-v-norway-7840593/#!/1x2
  23. Apparently Tuesday's Continental Tour meet in Rovereto had the pole vault today, at least according to their schedule? https://paliocittadellaquercia.it/en/time-table/ Anyone familiar with the results? The website still points to a 2024 results page and searching for the Italian federation's website brings my anti-virus to a meltdown, so yeah...quickly closed that one
