Deepika finished precariously at 9th position which means she has to face top ranked Korean in quarters.... But with 3 koreans in top 3 deepika could have avoided them only by finishing at 4th position which she was at after 36 arrows From 4th position she slipped to 9th after 72 shots where as if you have observe others in top 8 they finished with either OR/SB/PB Hope she raises her level in individual knockout and mixed team event !!!

if am right she was projected to win medals in both london and rio olympics....but she failed miserably by not even reaching QF Hopefully she takes the experience out of these and performs up to the expectations!! Not playing in womens team format may help her as there will be less pressure. Hopefully Atanu das tops qualifcation among indians mens team so that she gets paired with him as they are doing great as a mixed team !!!

yeah...now sony liv has started football streaming of GBR vs Chile some where i read that sony liv will be having 20 live streams from Olympics at a time which is great news for us.....from these live streams mostly indian events will be telecasted on TV its great that if we want to see some thing of important and interest to us (other than indian events) atleast we have opiton on sony liv

yes...even archery qualification on friday morning will not be telecasted telecast may start in India with opening ceremony only In india Sony is having TV rights...am only curious whether live streams available in Sony LIV will be different from what is being shown on TV

We have been discussing and predciting how many medals india might win.....but can India win Gold medal this time? In the entire olympics history India has won only one gold medal outside hockey!!! Where do we can win gold medal this time....for me best option seems to be 10m Air pistol mixed team/Vinesha poghat.... give your views also

yeah...1st sporting day is very crucial and as was the case in rio.... it will set the tone with 4 medal chances in weightlifting, shooting (men and women) and mixed archery But one good thing with this Olympics is we have medal chances on other days also with most crucial day on 27th when both air rifle and air pistol mixed team events are scheduled !!!

Bopanna pairing with Sania will be great news for India....last time they narrowly missed medal !!! they had decent matches at this year wimbledon

My prediction of india medals at tokyo Olympics event wise is as under (considering the experience at rio am predicting on realistic approach): Archery 0 medals Deepika may be in tremendous form in world cups but there were no korean, chinese taipei and chinese archers at the world cups....also time after time we have seen her faltering at the crucial time in Olympics Shooting 2 medals India might have topped many world cups leading into olympics...but world cup at crotia should be eye opener as we have won 3 (olympic events) medals that too agaiin with out shooters from china, korea and japan. 2 medals am expecting from the events where saurabh choudhary is partcipating (individaul and mixed) as he is one shooter who was consistent and more composed. Boxing 2 medals Am expecting one from amit panghal and another from women boxers mary/lovlina/simranjeet Weightlifting 1 medal From Mirabhai....she hjust has to complete one valid lift in both snatch and clean & jerk....in olympics we never had this luxury...most likely she will win silver Wrestling 2 medals One from vinesha and another from either bajrang/ravi dahiya...... bajrang has to be at his best as his weight category is most competitive one Badminton 1 medal One from Sindhu...am giving it to her considering her big match play and no fans at olympics which would help her against yamaguchi.... most likely bronze as i don't see her overcoming Tai Tzu ying in semis Hockey 0 medals True to world ranking India mens team might finish at 4...it all depends on who they face in quarters Athletics 0 medals I would love to have neeraj winning medal but considering long lay off from injury and minimum competitive experience he will find it difficult and might finish at 4th position again narrowly missing medal in athletics at olympics Rowing, Equestrian, Fencing, Sailing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Judo, Golf 0 medals. Only we can expect good performance in TT mixed doubles...other wise its good experience of participating in olympics All in all on realistic approach am going with 8 medals for India !! (combined total of rio and london) On optimistic approach India can win following additional medals: Shooting - 2more medals (one in mixed air rifle event and another from any shooter who can perform best on their day) Wrestling - 1 more medal in womens category Archery (mixed team event)/ Hockey / Athletics - 1 medal All in all on optimistic approach am going with 12 medals for India !! (combined total of Rio, London, Bejing and Athens)

Satwik and chirag are drawn along world no.1 indonesian pair in mens doubles badminton In one way its good that even if they finish second in their group they will avoid this pair until finals

Just read some where that neeraj will skip diamond league event in london because of covid restrictions in Japan for persons travelled to UK..... He will continue training in sweden until month end and directly travel to tokyo from there Ideally it would have been better for him to get some more competition as he was peaking slowly...lets see how it goes

if its yes then definitely it boosts our medal chance further...who knows we might win 2 medals at same event !!!

What an important day july 24th will be for india at tokyo olympics.... its overloaded with so many events for india and some of the events we are expected to win medals : Archery mixed team Weightlifting - Mirabai chanu Shooting - 10m Air rifle women and 10m Air pistol mens (Saurabh chaudhary) Hockey - India vs New zealand (Mens) and India vs Netherlans (womens) TT - Mixed dpubles round of 16 Tennis - womens doubles Badminton - Group stages Rowing Hoping for atleast good/better results on this 1st day unlike 1st day of Rio which was really bad and set the precedence for entire olympics One good thing is we have sure shot medal on 1st day in form of mirabai chanu if she completes even one lift in both snatch & clean and jerk!!!

Is neeraj chopra participating in any event before olympics? Btw can 2 indian teams partcipate in shooting mixed events at olympics as has been seen in world cups?

Its very rare that india will be going into olympics with multiple players either olympics top seed or world no.1 Archery - Deepika world no.1 Vinesha - Wrestling top seed Amit Panghal - Boxing top seed In shooting 2 or 3 players are ranked world no.1 Bajrang punia - wrestling 2nd seed Hopefully these top billings will be converted into medals !!!

Current javelin olympic champion thomas rohler is out due to injury....it definitely increases medal chances for neeraj chopra

would like to add even china and chinese taipei are not there which are very strong teams... in archery at olympics we are perennial chokers especially deepika....hopefully things gets changed at tokyo

I know it will be costly affair... the packages you have referred are Tourism packages.... Mostly for olympics it may be on same lines... it depends on accomodation which may be more costly during olympics Still am giving thought about as i want to experience olympics atmosphere and also am not sure when India is going to host olympics Btw does anyone have idea of getting tickets for olympics in India? In website it is mentioned Fanatic Sports is authroised ticket seller in India for tokyo olympics....but they are not showing any thing on their website

Truely..... with the way things are going the badminton medal in last 2 olympics needs to be covered up by one of the Athletics / Archery / Hockey / TT Most mysterious is Srikanth case... he has reached World no.1 after Rio olympics and now he is struggling in every tournament...... is he still injured? It seems we can have slight medal hopes only on Sindhu and Sai praneeth

I had watched last 6 olympics on TV......and as you said we have the advantage of watching multiple sports at a time But this time am thinking of experiencing the olympics from live audience point of view.... i think if we plan for only indian events there may not be multiple events at same time as shooting is in the beginning and wrestling is in the end....... badminton and boxing events are in between Anyway we will be having Mobiles to watch live streaming

Neeraj chopra has pulled out of National open athletics championship at the last moment It would have been interesting to see how he could have performed.... but decision has been taken considering long term Btw hope every one has observed that at World Athletics Gold has been won with a throw of 86.89 m which is well below Neeraj PB
