Latest news on the rain front for P-R is possibly a bit of rain for the women, a lot in the evening/night but mainly dry for the men's race.

A friend pretty close to promising rain during the weekend but timing is still pretty uncertain. Right now indeed looking like sunday (afternoon). Meanwhile the women's race is looking more dry.

I will join though I'm in no way sure that I'll have time (I hope I'll be able to vote during the first week of the window). I will however let @Wumo take care of the song selection for

Ugh. 3 Danes crashing during the race including Dalby who was a damn strong medal contender (and he wasn't even to blame). Those tight corners with old-fashioned barriers will be a big factor in all the races!

I really fear that the Danes are using too much energy trying to get into a break!

So IIHF has decided to have women's Worlds in Olympic years as well and quickly claimed that Denmark is going to host it next year. Denmark however has so far only shown interest and is still looking into whether they can make it happen.

When you say 90 % vaccinated, do you mean of the ones who can get the shot? I mean, right now it's only approved for 12 years and up (though Pfizer is testing on younger already). With that, most countries have a hard time getting to 80 %.

First of all. That massive slaughtering was a huge mistake, even experienced whalers (including the foreman where it happened who wasn't a part of it) in the Faroe Islands say so. Way too many dolphins to way too few hunters. That one was certainly barbaric as they were struggling for way too long. Second. Nothing's showing a general gain in this. Certainly this one catch will make 2021 numbers much higher than normal (more white-sided dolphins than the last 12 years together), but there is regulation to keep it at a level where it doesn't in any way endanger the animals. Third. If grindadrap is to be disallowed we would need to see a ton of slaughterhouses and farms around the world shut down as well killing a lot of meat industries. If that's wanted, that's certainly okay and we should generally treat our animals better, but as long as billions around the world eat meat (myself included, though I try cutting it down a bit) we have animals treated poorly all around the world! Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of how it's done, but I just don't see it (once again with that single situation as an exception) as worse than many others treating chicken, cows, pigs and other animals bred for eating.

Sounds great! Though I'll most likely won't have the time to participate this time (election's coming up) it's great to see the contest continue!

As I tried saying, there's outrage against grind every single year. Personally I don't see why it's such a sick tradition.

You sound like grind doesn't get attention every single year! (Not saying that about 1400 feels like too much considering the population size)

Today, on my 30th birthday, pretty much all COVID restrictions have been lifted in Denmark! We're free!
