  1. Considering the Grand Final will take place in January, I think it would be nice to push the deadline to next week to give more time. I just finished my first round of listening but would be great to have some more time.
  2. ESPAÑA Gabry Ponte, Vicco - Viento The song is a collab between Italian DJ Gabry Ponte and Spanish singer Victoria Riba 'Vicco' (3rd place at Benidorm Fest 2023)
  3. is in. I hope I can find time to participate.
  4. At first the Spanish federation said that she needed surgery and would take some months to be able to train again, but it seems that she will try to compete at the Olympics even if she is injured by delaying the surgery. I'm not sure if that's a wise decision in the long run but it's her decision after all.
  5. This ended up being true. Our defense is not good but your attack has been even worse, at least in this game, and I think the Ukrainian coach made a mistake by giving up control of the ball so easily. We got lucky to convert an early goal and that was enough.
  6. Don't worry. This Spanish team is very weak defensively, so you can easily win.
  7. Ana Alonso , silver medal in the mixed relay and 4th place in sprint race at the last Worlds, has been hit by a car while training and suffered very serious injuries, so she won't be able to make it to the Olympics. At this point it is not even sure if she will be able to compete again.
  8. In Spain the World Championships, Tour de Francia and Vuelta a España are always broadcast on public TV. They usually show other 1 day races in Spain such as Itzulia or Clásica Jaén and even European Championships. Other races are broadcast in Eurosport.
  9. Gold in junior with Paula Ostiz, bronze in U23 with Paula Blasi and bronze in senior with Mavi García. It seems that women cycling is back after a very long time.
  10. I don't think they are better except for Kiefer, but they have performed better in major tournaments recently. That would be a fun discussion in the fencing thread. Going back to athletics, 6 medals is a very good result for Italy. I would prefer 6 medals with 1 gold rather than 2 golds of the same athlete.
  11. Both foil teams seem very dominant in fencing, although you lost both finals in Paris.
  12. Yes, when he was in Ferrari he finished second after Vettel two seasons in a row and the first time was a very close championship.
  13. Nadal yes. Alonso and Contador were very good, but not dominant, at least not at the same level as Hamilton or Pogacar. And Contador tested positive for doping, so who knows
  14. We usually have not had dominant athletes. Off the top of my head I think we only had 2 Olympics where we won more gold medals than silver or bronze medals (1992 and 2016). Anyways, Russia is still missing, so not even sure María Pérez would be the best if Russians were allowed to compete.
  15. Fake news. Spanish football federation, which is the entity responsible of sending the team, is not considering to boycott the World Cup at all. This is just wishful thinking from some Podemos politicians and journalists and it is never going to happen unless everybody else in Europe does the same.
  16. The commentator in Spanish TV just mistook with when presenting Thelma Davies.
  17. She will come back to compete at the Euros in Spain next year and then retire.
  18. Unexpected result to finish a pretty decent tournament for the Spanish team: 3-1
  19. Sinner retired after just 5 games. Maybe playing a final at 15:00 with such high temperatures is not the best idea.
  20. 12 teams and no group stage in 2027: Round 1: 5-12 (according to ranking). Winners advance to QFs and losers go to repechage. Repechage: 1-4 + losers of Round 1. Winners advance to QFs and losers play for 9-12th place. And then a normal tournament with QF, SF and Finals. There are games to decide every position.
  21. No relegations this year. Next edition will have 12 teams instead of 8.
  22. Basketball already published an article explaining their proposal (Men: https://about.fiba.basketball/en/our-sport/basketball/national-team-competition-systems/olympic-mens-basketball-tournaments / Women: https://about.fiba.basketball/en/our-sport/basketball/national-team-competition-systems/olympic-womens-basketball-tournaments), as well as volleyball (https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1138613/fivb-los-angeles-2028-calendar). No full proposal known yet from hockey, but at least we know that FIH Pro League will give one quota each season.
  23. IFs have until December 2025 to send their proposals. IOC will review and approve the qualification systems in early 2026, so no official qualification systems until February 2026, but some IFs will publish their proposals before that.
  24. Some European nations are trying to suggest this modification, but no luck so far. Unfortunately, the pre-approved version of the qualification process last year kept the order of top4 and then continental quotas. Imagine if Egypt manages to make it to the top 4, which might be possible in men's foil, and we have a second African team at the Olympics with an incredible low level instead of Hong Kong or China...
  25. It was approved last year by FIE Congress, so it is going to happen unless this year Congress decides to push back the change, which is unlikely given the current situation. They also approved ranking dates from April 3rd 2027 to April 1st 2028.
