  1. so, get the first win of the season...what a better way to open the Home Olympics campaign? not a good sign for the other teams, though
  2. Women's Individual Sabre ( Algiers) Gold: Sara Balzer Silver: Olga Kharlan Bronze: Despina Georgiadou & Theodora Gkountoura Semifinals Balzer b. Gkountoura 15-10 Kharlan b. Georgiadou 15-12 Final Balzer b. Kharlan 15-11 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2024/1408?tab=results
  3. as expected, too much snow on the track = no training #3 Today the organizers said that they want to focus on the preparation of the course for Tomorrow's race rather than rush the track cleaning for Today's training weather forecast is good for Tomorrow, but awful for Sunday
  4. the Draw for the Olympic Qualification tournaments will be held on Monday, November 27th @ 6 p.m. CET https://www.fiba.basketball/news/luol-deng-to-perform-draw-for-the-fiba-olympic-qualifying-tournaments-2024
  5. here we go first event of the season, the women's Individual Sabre from Algiers live scoring https://www.fencingtimelive.com/tableaus/scores/18C9FCEC9A5F4AE497085429187DC9DA/52929960439F40329D488F9F3C0ECBC3 live streaming links https://www.fie.org/live
  6. 2023 Korean Series game #3 live right now (for free...and no VPN required) here: https://play.afreecatv.com/afbaseball1/249029236
  7. I'm a bit disappointed by Pergher's time over the 500m, I expected her to be within 1 sec from the actual race winner, but she's at least 3-4/10 outside that meanwhile, even if she slooks like to become a pure 500m specialist, I'm really disappointed with her 1.20 over the 1000m...she can do way better than that good results instead for Bosa, waiting for Ghiotto to enlight our speedskating weekend p.s. Jutta
  8. probably the shortest match of the entire CWC 2023 (on the clock, not in terms of overs completed)... game #41, dismantled by 5 wickets as written earlier, posted a very modest 171/all out in 46.3 overs, then it took just 23.2 overs to to overtake that score and go 172/5 game details https://www.cricketworldcup.com/match/102781 so, mission accomplished by the New Zealanders, they won and they did it by a big, comfortable margin that allowed them to improve their NRR to +0.743 are currently at +0.036 (and even worse, as they currently have a negative NRR), which means that they need not only a win, but a record breaking one next Saturday vs to try and make their NRR better than 's unlikely, very unlikely... Tomorrow, game #42 features vs at 9.30 a.m. CET in Ahmedabad before Today, it might have been a match to follow, but now I think have no chance at all to overtake in the standings, therefore I don't know how they're gonna play Tomorrow, with what attitude?
  9. 2023 Korean Series LG Twins and KT Wiz shared the first couple of games in Seoul, now the series switch to Suwon for games #3 and #4 game #1, KT Wiz b. LG Twins 3-2 in Seoul game details https://mykbostats.com/games/11271-KT-vs-LG-20231107 game #2, LG Twins b. KT Wiz 5-4 in Seoul game details https://mykbostats.com/games/11272-KT-vs-LG-20231108 the Series is tied 1-1, game #3 is scheduled for Tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. local time (10.30 a.m. CET) in Suwon
  10. ended the 1st inning with 171/all out in 46.4 overs (they've been very good to resist for so long, when they had already 8 outs after less than 20 overs) just started batting, the weather seems to give the match a chance to finish "naturally"
  11. women Laura Lorenzato Veronica Luciani Serena Pergher men Francesco Betti David Bosa Daniele Di Stefano Davide Ghiotto Andrea Giovannini Riccardo Lorello Michele Malfatti Alessio Trentini all eyes on Ghiotto, of course but also looking forward to Pergher (especially in the women's 500m, distance on which she's the reigning junior world champion) and Di Stefano (who improved a lot above all in the 1500m in the recent warm-up races in Inzell) our top female skater, Francesca Lollobrigida, who gave birth to a child just a few months ago, will be back in the world cup only when the circus gets back to Europe (beginning of December in Stavanger), as she isn't comfortable to fly that far with her young baby (she already competed in Inzell a couple of weeks ago, though...and showed a good shape for someone who just started skating after almost a year of inactivity -she went 4.06 in the 3k)
  12. meanwhile, no training #2 Today for the next days
  13. very busy (too busy) opening weekend of the Fencing World Cup except for the women's Foil, all the other 5 weapons are on stage basically all together (and some of them, in places where it's almost impossible to get a decent streaming coverage) FIE will never learn from their mistakes
  14. luckily, now it seems that the weather is good enough to play and if things continue like that, it's gonna be a very short match, as wickets are falling one after another (they're already at 8)... 1st inning is almost gone now they could boost their NRR to a level that and can't go whatever it happens in their respective matches in the next days
  15. nice start for Germani & Bertuzzi in the women's 49er FX class they flopped at the World Champs earlier this year, now they're expected to make up for their faults and earn the lone OQP available in Vilamoura on the other hand, I don't think we have any chance in the men's 49er
  16. game #40, beat by 160 runs choose to bat first and posted 339/9 in 50 overs, score that proved to be clearly out of reach for the that in fact only managed to score 179/all out in 37.2 overs game details https://www.cricketworldcup.com/match/102780 so, now the gameday #8 is over, only one match per Nation is left on the schedule we already know 3 of the 4 teams qualified to the semifinals ( ), meanwhile the fight for the 4th and last spot in the top 4 is still on between and , all tied with 8 points, which means that most likely the decision will go down to some tie-breakers (number of total wins or NRR) standings after gameday #8 https://www.cricketworldcup.com/standings Tomorrow, game #41 is scheduled between and at 9.30 a.m. CET in Bengaluru have the chance to post a score that would improve their NRR almost out of reach of and even if they would defeat their respective rivals in the last match of the round robin play and get tied with them in the total number of wins on the other hand, if they miss this chance, they expose themselves to a possible comeback by the Asian teams, leaving their destiny in other teams' hands
  17. the Draw Group A Europe #1 Group B Group C Europe #2 Group D Europe #3
  18. the Draw Group A Group B Europe #1 Europe #2 Group C Group D Europe #3
  19. just follow the link I posted above... but this time most likely (almost sure) a VPN is required
  20. @hckoĆĄice a friend just made me notice a Hockey comparison between the Maxwell and Cummins partnership in Today's match and the Gretzky brothers' point record in the NHL...
  21. I don't believe what I just saw! (the great Vin Scully, cit. ) was dead and gone, already 7 wickets fallen and all their best (on paper) batsmen out, win probability down to 6% according to AI and then comes Glenn Maxwell... he didn't start full gas, he was miraculously saved twice by missed catches and twice by VAR (the last one I don't think it was really how the AI reconstructed the bounce of the ball, I don't trust it at all), then he was cramping in all of his body and maybe injured in his lower back... but suddenly he started to hit boundaries like there's no Tomorrow (and actually there wasn't Tomorrow for at that point) and finally he won the match (almost by himself) in style by posting an unbelievable double century (201 from 128 balls/not out), best individual performance of the 2023 CWC so far (and most likely it will stand until it's all over) game #39, beat by 3 wickets posted 291/5 in 50 overs, answered with 293/7 in 46.5 overs game details https://www.cricketworldcup.com/match/102779 Tomorrow the 8th gameday ends with game #40, the useless matchup between and at 9.30 a.m. in Pune
  22. by the way, good final stint for in the 1st inning, led by an amazing century (129 out of 143 balls, not out) posted by Ibarahim Zadran finally, scored 291/5 in 50 overs, giving quite a difficult task (not that they can't complete this chase, though...let's see how the bowlers feel tonight...they need a good start to fuel their hope) and as I'm writing, what a start of 2nd inning! first ball is a 4 for , then Mujeeb almost got Warner on the 2nd ball...if they keep this pace of action, they're all dead by the 20th over
