  1. Taylor Ruck!!! Ledecky lost again over 200m Free (she was 3rd, beaten not only by Ruck, by also by Ikee)...even if we have to say that she swam 8.09 over the 800m Free half an hour before swimming the 200m... meanwhile, Cate Campbell swam 50.9 in the anchor leg of the Mixed Medley Relay (Caeleb Dressel swam 50.50 in the Fly leg for the USA)...
  2. Olympic Road Race courses revealed...and we're gonna have some tough, really tough races...especially the men's one... https://tokyo2020.org/en/news/notice/20180809-01.html
  3. Final Results Men's 470 Gold: Kevin Peponnet/Jeremie Mion, 56 pts Silver: Tetsuya Isozaki/Akira Takayanagi, 60 pts Bronze: Jordi Xammar Hernandez/Nicolas Rodriguez Garcia-Paz, 62 pts
  4. Final Results Women's 470 Gold: Ai Kondo-Yoshida/Miho Yoshioka, 33 pts Silver: Silvia Mas Depares/Patricia Cantero Reina, 39 pts Bronze: Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre, 41 pts
  5. Laser, Laser Radial and 49er FX standings are official now (and therefore also the Olympic Quota list)...
  6. Final Results Finn Gold: Zsombor Berecz, 70 pts Silver: Max Salminen, 74 pts Bronze: Pieter-Jan Postma, 76 pts
  7. we need a perfect outing by our pitchers...that's always the key... but I fear we played our jiker with yesterday's game, already... in any case, this is our first QTF appearance in 12 years, so this tournament is a success for us even if we lose against MEX...
  8. great finish of the men's race... Rasovsky attempted more than once to suicide himself with a strange trajectory...finally he was able to do it on the finish line... really modest performance by the Italians...
  9. that's OK, since the 10th and last fleet race has been completed... I only wrote to @Gianlu33 to wait for a while to post the Olympic quota, because the final result of the last race is not official yet, there could be an appeal that we don't know about it...I just want to make things official when they actually are official...
  10. however, if this result is confirmed, the gold medal will be an affair between Kontides and Wearn only, with Meech, Hanson and Buhl fighting for bronze... p.s. good 7th race by Camboni in the men's RS:X (he's second behind Van Rijsselberge in the overall ranking), meanwhile we're putting even the Olympic spot at serious risk among the girls in the same class...
  11. you have to wait for the confirmation on the official website...we don't know if there is any appeal still to be discussed... that's only the result at the finish line of the 10th race... patience...you need more patience...
  12. results are not official yet...on the official website the last race of the Gold Fleet is still missing...
  13. still too much Orange on the podium for my taste... but, being serious for a (short) while, chapeau! to Van Rouwendaal...she's really the no.1 open water swimmer in the world right now... very happy about Gabrielleschi's result, since she's still learning how to play this game (she only started last year to swim outside the pool)...she definitely couldn't do anything more than she actually did today... and decent result also by Bruni...she was still tired from yesterday (she doen't have the same body as the Dutch super-girl) and she was also really annoyed by the water temperature and the full heavy bodysuit... in Tokyo (but also at the next Worlds in Korea) we're gonna see something different for sure (but Van Rowendaal will be still on top, I fear)...
  14. let's start to recap the crews already qualified to the Tokyo Games after the 2018 World Championships... Finn Argentina Canada Hungary Great Britain New Zealand Sweden Turkey Men's 470 Australia France Great Britain Italy New Zealand Spain Sweden United States Women's 470 China France Great Britaon Greece Italy Israel Slovenia Spain
  15. quick update... when we all thought that Men's Laser and Women's Laser Radial fleet races could be over, isaf added 2 more races for the women's class Gold Fleet and 1 more race for the men's class Gold Fleet, which means that we still have to wait those races to know the crews qualified to the Olympic Games (and to the Medal Race)...
  17. second (and possibly 3rd, waiting for confirmation) quota for Italy (in the men's 470 for sure, probably also in the women's Laser Radial)... these champs are just becoming a big and unexpected success for us... always provided that Nacra and RS:X would eventually deliver the expected medals (Olympic quota in these 3 classes -especially the Nacra- are just the minimum effort, but still not fully satisfying)...
  18. day #7 (provisional) recap Men's Laser (9 races): Pavlos Kontides 29 pts, Matthew Wearn 32 pts, Tom Burton 34 pts Women's Laser Radial (8 races): Paige Riley 42 pts, Emma Plasschaert & Marie Rindom tied with 43 pts **Finn (10 races): Max Salminen 60 pts, Zsombor Berecz & Josh Junior tied with 68 pts + / / / / / / going to the Medal Race **Men's 470 (10 races): Anton Dahlberg/Fredrik Bergstrom 44 pts, Tetsuya Isozaki/Akira Takayanagi & Kevin Peponnet/Jeremie Mion tied with 50 pts + / / / / / / going to the Medal Race **Women's 470 (7 races): Ai Kondo Yoshida/Miho Yoshioka 23 pts, Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz 28 pts, Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre 33 pts + / / / / / / going to the Medal Race *Men's 49er (6 races): Lucas Rual/Emile Amoros 14 pts, Logan Dunning Beck/Oscar Gunn 22 pts, Tim Fischer/Fabian Graf 23 pts Women's 49er FX (9 races): Tanja Frank/Lorena Abicht 47 pts, Natasha Bryant/Annie Wilmot 52 pts, Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz 55 pts *Men's RS:X (6 races): Pawel Tarnowski 14 pts, Dorian Van Rijsselberge 17 pts, Daniele Benedetti & Mattia Camboni tied with 20 pts *Women's RS:X (6 races): Lu Yunxia 14 pts, Lilian De Geus 17 pts, Charline Picon 21 pts *Mixed Nacra 17 (7 races): Santiago Lange/Cecilia Carranza Saroli 16 pts, Samuel Albrecht/Gabriela Nicolino De Sà 21 pts, Jason Waterhouse/Lisa Darmanin 26 pts * = No races yet recorded on the official site for Today ** = Fleet Races are over Not Olympic classes... Men's Kiteboard (13 races): S.Bridge 11 pts, N.Parlier 14 pts, O.Bridge 14 pts Women's Kiteboard (10 races): D.Moroz 8 pts, E.Kalinina 17 pts, A.Fancelli 26 pts p.s. those Kiteboard results are driving me crazy...they go back and forth every day...races cancelled, races added...saying that's a real mess is an euphemism...
  19. of course I was talking of the entire European Championships, all disciplines included (and I was writing when 2 Dutch Gold medal were coming almost at the same time -Van Dijk and Van Rouwendaal)...
  20. I leave to @hckosice the hard task to replay to this post...
  21. I agree on that...and I don't understand why they don't do it...it shouldn't be that complicated, I guess...
  22. yeah, they were wearing those suits because of the cold water...and it was a big trouble for many swimmers (normally they swim in warm places, where you can't use those full bodysuits), especially for our girls (they said before the start they were going to have some problems because of those suits...they really hate them)... being able to recognize theathletes more easily is the only good thing about this situation...
  23. I know the rules...I only meant that you can't take it so badly...in any case, it won't be that complicated for you to qualify even if you have to play 1 or 2 more tournaments with the lower ranked teams to do it...
  24. p.s. @hckosice if you can, you should also change the title of this thread in "Open Water Swimming" and so on, rather than "Marathon Swimming" and so on...
